Letter to Bill Johnson of the Denver Post

This is a letter I wrote in response to the following article in the Denver Post by Bill Johnson:

“Handguns Make it Way too Easy for Criminals to Kill Good People”
March 23rd, 2011

Just like that.

It is a sentence, or at least a fragment of one, that should have a question mark pinned to the end. But I think I have been around much too long to really ever be surprised anymore.

"Give me all your money," the man waving a black semiautomatic handgun and wearing a black bandana to hide his face barked at the young couple early Friday.
The young woman, Elizabeth Roach, figuring it all a joke although it was 2 in the morning, but also because it was Boulder, yanked the bandana from the man's face.
"I'm not (expletive) around. Give me all your money!" the gunman then replied, firing one shot into the air for emphasis, as if the 900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue was some dusty road somewhere in the Old West.
Somehow still not convinced, the woman grabbed the young man she was with, Todd Walker, 20, by the arm and set out.

"Come on, we're leaving," she said.

At this point, Walker, apparently also still unconvinced, shoved the gunman, who shoved back.

"This is ridiculous. Leave her alone," Walker told the man holding a gun.

The gunman raised his gun and shot Walker once through the heart before running south down an alley.

Todd Walker died. Just like that.
All of it ticks me off. It has since the day I first read it. You have no idea.

Have we really reached a point in our evolution where a young man's life can be taken so cheaply?

I would pose the question to every politician who mattered, but they retreat, frozen as if truly stupefied, for fear of angering every last gun group and gun lobbyist, who you have to know by now got us here and Todd Walker in the ground in the first place.

Not even the president, a half-dozen people slain in Phoenix and a congresswoman shot through the brain, can muster the courage to at last say, enough.
No one says it, and people continue to die.
I have been grinding on this for better than two decades of column writing now, so I know exactly the argument: The gun did not kill Todd Walker. A stupid criminal did.
Stupid criminals I can abide, sort of.
I cannot and will never abide this society's turning a blind eye to the very instrument that allows them to take the life of a kid like Todd Walker.

Handguns, and I have said this so many times, are an abomination in this society. They are the preferred tool of the crazed and weak. They believe it gives them power.
They make good people, like Todd Walker, a sophomore at the University of New Hampshire, where he was a business major and played football, easy victims.
And we should talk about the handgun and Tucson.
Did you know that from the January slaughter there until mid-March, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates 2,405 people in the United States have been shot and killed?
Think about that. How can such a number of gun deaths, such violence, be tolerated?
In the days since Todd Walker's killing, Boulder police arrested Kevin McGregor, a 22-year-old sandwich-shop employee. He has been charged with first-degree murder, and prosecutors are considering the death penalty.
Yet more killing.
I tried without success to reach Mark and Pam Walker, Todd's parents. It is never an easy assignment.
Mark Walker, in the Colorado Daily the other day, spoke of his son's killing and called him a hero for trying to protect his companion during the attempted robbery.

"It seems like a really, really silly reason to take a life," he lamented.

When a handgun is involved, it is really, really way too easy, as well.

My letter:

Dear Mr. Johnson,

After reading your opinion in “Handguns make it way too easy for criminals to kill good people” on March 23rd, I felt compelled to reply. I have never replied to an editorial before, so please bear with me. As you will come to find in reading further, I happen to be one of the power-crazed weaklings you label—you know, the people in possession of the “abomination of this society”—handguns.

I appreciate your heart-felt sympathies for victims of senseless violent tragedy. I too share your angst over the death and destruction of human life for such menial reasons. However, I am constrained to point out a glaring hypocrisy in your stage-one thinking pertaining to handguns and their use.

Your mantra claims that Todd Walker, the murdered individual your article speaks of, was an “easy victim” simply because a handgun was used in his murder. Rather than decisively label you immediately as an overly emotional individual with no real education on firearms, I decided to follow your train of thought and ask the next valid question. If Mr. Walker had a handgun and used it to defend his life and the life of the young woman, would you be equally critical of Mr. Walker as you were of the criminal? Would you label Todd as “crazed and weak” and a power-crazed individual using the “abomination of society” to easily victimize someone? If the roles were reversed and Todd used a handgun to defend his life would you continue your rant of being outraged that society continues to turn a blind eye to the very instrument that allows this type of violence? My contention is that you would not because to do so would be illogical and half-witted and I do not think you are stupid or irrational. I believe you are a smart man with a good heart; however, in my opinion, you are misguided in your stance to handguns and violence.

Allow me to offer a hypothetical scenario in an effort to further shed light upon the hypocrisy that comes from the attitude that handguns are evil. Let us imagine for a moment that humankind never invented the handgun or firearms altogether. The technology was never discovered, and therefore, the very word “gun” is totally foreign to all humans on the planet. Would you still have written your article with as much revulsion toward the murder weapon if Mr. Walker was murdered with a club or a sword or knife or rock? Although this is a hypothetical question, I feel it loses none of its relevance because clubs, swords, knifes and rocks exist today—along with a myriad of other implements that are used to murder, and yet you only choose to demonize the handgun.

My question, and the question of most of us who do not agree with your stance is: Why? Why are you so adamantly determined to excoriate and misrepresent guns? The logic just doesn’t add up. Any half-wit can look at the surface of this issue and label the physical gun as the crux of the problem; however that makes about as much sense as claiming it is a pencil’s fault for misspelling a word. I fear expressing your anti-gun emotions to any “politician that matters” will be in vain largely because your arguments do not intelligently articulate in a convincing manner that guns are the root-problem and should therefore be aggressively protested against.

Would you support legislation that completely bans handguns, or at least makes it extremely difficult to purchase one? If your answer is yes, then allow me to offer another side of the debate that you have possibly not considered. Constitutional reference and 2nd Amendment arguments aside, banning handguns will only succeed in disarming the law-abiding citizens and significantly hindering their ability to defend themselves against the criminals who will still obtain handguns illegally. For example, current legislation prohibits a convicted felon from purchasing a handgun; however, anyone can easily observe that the legislation does not curtail them from coming into possession of handguns. This is because they are criminals. Another way to put it is that they are outlaws—they choose to live outside of the law. Restrictive gun legislation dose not apply to those that choose to live outside of the law. Unfortunately for law-abiding citizens however, restrictive gun legislation will successfully limit their ability to legally own a gun, and therefore limit their ability to defend themselves against those that do have the guns.

Evil lives in the world. People commit unexplainable acts of cowardice and violence every day. Evil has always been present in humankind, and unfortunately, evil will continue to be a part of the world. Human life has been taken cheaply throughout our history, not just since the handgun came into being. The fact that a criminal has a gun in his hand while he perpetrates an evil act is mostly irrelevant to the genuine root of the issue and the actual evil act itself. People kill people Mr. Johnson—it happens. The fact that handguns exist does not aggravate the issue any more than the fact that knives, swords, baseball bats, and chainsaws also happen to exist.

I own a handgun, yes, one of the “abominations of society” and I have never shot it at another human being nor do I have the desire to ever do so. This is because I am a sane and responsible citizen with a healthy respect for life and the power of firearms. Furthermore, I do not fear firearms because I possess a lengthy education on the proper use of them. Unfortunately, there are plenty of violent individuals, without the proper respect or education, who succumb to cowardice and selfishness and choose to use handguns to perpetrate unthinkable acts. However, according to your fuzzy-logic, by virtue of the fact that I possess a handgun, I will undoubtedly use it in an act of senseless violence because I believe it gives me “power.” Because, obviously, possessing a handgun automatically overrides my ability to make rational decisions, use good judgment and common sense, and reject my natural instinct to respect life. (Obvious sarcasm there…)

Rest assured Mr. Johnson, if I ever found myself in a situation in which my life or the life of another was being threatened unjustly by a “crazed and weak” individual, if circumstances allowed, I would utilize my handgun against that individual in an effort to preserve innocent life and circumvent a violent criminal from creating another statistic that you can later emote about in another article. I would do this with a clear conscience knowing the sanctity in defending one’s own life or the life of an innocent person. Yes, I would use my handgun to protect innocent life, even if that innocent life was yours.

Obama: A War Criminal?

Our president has declared war on another country without congressional approval. Is he going to be held accountable for this action, or will this matter be shrugged off and Obama given another complete pass to continue to be a total failure of a Commander in Chief?

In 2007 Obama told the Boston Globe:

“The President does not have the power under the constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.”

In a press conference on March 21st Obama said:

“The core principle that has to be upheld here [military action against Libya] is that when the entire international community almost unanimously says that there is a potential humanitarian crisis about to take place, that a leader [Qaddafi] who has lost his legitimacy, decides to turn his military on his own people, that we can’t simply stand by with empty words. That we have to take some sort of action.”

So, by Obama’s logic, if this so called “international community” is involved, then the US Constitution is irrelevant? Since when does the president cease to be answerable to congress and the American people regarding involving the country in a war? What is the “actual or imminent threat” to our nation from Libya?

Several presidents over the past 40 years have been notorious for committing acts of war on other nations without proper congressional consent. Kennedy sent “advisors” to Vietnam which were later involved in combat action against the Viet Minh, Johnson had the controversial Gulf of Tonkin Resolution which committed the US to combat action in Vietnam, Nixon bombed Cambodia, Clinton brought US military action against Kosovo and Somalia then left those places in a mess, and now Obama moves the US into Libya. It takes an act of congress to make war on another country—whatever the reason, humanitarian or otherwise, and Obama failed to seek congressional authorization. What is this “international community” that the US is apparently answerable to according to Obama? Are we not a sovereign nation with our own Constitution?

What Obama has said about Libya could easily describe Saddam and Iraq even going back to before Operation Desert Storm--the very same Saddam and Iraq that Obama and democrats blasted the Bush administration for being irrelevant to the War on Terror. Furthermore, if circumventing a “potential humanitarian crisis” is the reason Obama is citing for declaring war on Libya, then why doesn’t he declare war on any number of the dozen or so other countries in the world in which humanitarian crises take place. Why was Obama totally silent during the humanitarian crises in Iran during the beginning of his term? There are “humanitarian crisis’s” happening every day in our own southern states pertaining to illegal immigration and the injustices and intimidation of ranchers and farmers. Does our own federal government do anything about that? Absolutely not. And don’t tell me the Bureaucracy of “Homeland Security” and Border Patrol is an acceptable answer.

By the way, Bush did get unanimous authorization from congress in October of 2001 to conduct military action on any nation that harbored, supported, or was sympathetic to terrorists.

Where is the “international coalition” here? Despite no congressional approval, military action against Libya thus far has been solely American—the US is conducting the operations, the US is supplying the operations, the US is financing the operations. As far as Qaddafi and all Muslim terrorists around the world are concerned, the 112 Tomahawk cruise missiles that exploded in Tripoli last Saturday came from the US—not this phantom “international community” Obama speaks of.

How many wars can one nation be involved in and still maintain some semblance of functionality on the home front? Our nation is currently reeling with economic distress, the highest unemployment in 30 years, ever increasing prices, fear of inflation, fear of tax increases, a large illegal immigration problem, political discourse, war fatigue, decreasing morale in the military, many states are virtually bankrupt, and our Commander in Chief commits the nation to yet another war-front! What is his goal? What is the plan, strategy, endgame, anything? The fact that we have no idea is further proof that this administration is dangerously incompetent and completely in over their heads. Even Hillary just announced that if Obama gets another term, she’s out.

Aside from all of the glaringly bad decisions and indecisions the Obama administration has made domestically, ultimately it has been our president’s embarrassing failure as our Commander in Chief and foreign policy blunders that have really reinforced my resolve that the election of Obama was a shameful mistake that America must remedy in the next election cycle. I know every president has flaws and makes mistakes, and we will never be able to elect the “perfect” individual; however, Obama has proven he was not ready for the job of president. His past which contains absolutely no leadership experience, to our detriment, is catching up to him.

Obama’s first impression on the world pertaining to war matters was anticlimactic to say the least. He dithered on Afghanistan for over six months when we needed decisive action, strategy, and leadership. Under Obama, the US is a stagnate-occupying force in Iraq with no real direction on how to proceed. He completely dismissed the Iranian uprising, thus being absent on a crucial international opportunity to stand for freedom and democracy and denounce tyranny and oppression. He has now inserted the US into a third front on wars against Muslim nations (so much for his tireless outreach to the Muslim population…).

The stench of hypocrisy coming from this president, his administration, and the democrat-party-biased-media regarding war is staggering. Where are all of the war protestors now? They couldn’t contain themselves when Bush was in office, but now they got their guy in the White House, so all is quiet. By the way, at least eight Marines lost their lives in Afghanistan last week. Did the media make a peep about that? When was the last time we ever heard anything, good or bad, about the war on terror? It seems once Obama took power it basically vanished from the media’s vernacular. But of course the death of Michael Jackson, Tiger Woods’ girlfriends, Charlie Sheen’s melt-downs, and Obama’s brackets for March Madness make much better cover stories for anything that could potentially shed a negative light on Obama and his failed handling of these wars. Must be nice to have a large portion of the media covering for you all the time…

The Truth Comes Out

Big surprise…

The curtain has finally been pulled back to reveal NPR executives for what they truly are: liberal ideologues with a warped and fearful outlook of anyone and anything that does not fit their social-political paradigm.

This story underscores a concrete example of how certain liberals or “progressives” at higher media or political levels view you—the conservative. They label you as stupid and racist. Of course the irony here is that they label you as fearful of many groups of people such as Muslims, homosexuals, immigrants, minorities etc. and yet it seems that they are in reality fearful of conservatives.

Maybe we could coin a new phobia: Conserveatiphobia…

Say nothing of the blatant anti-Semite remarks from Schiller in the video.

Logical thinking and genuine honesty dictate that generalizing an entire group of people is not intelligent or even rational. Labeling the entire Tea Party as “racist” is simply a hasty generalization that does not hold any concrete evidence or proof; however, it seems logic, proof, evidence, and truth do not matter to the staunch liberal or “progressive”. Labeling the entire Nazi party of the Third Reich as fascists however is not a hasty generalization due to the multitude of historical proof, evidence, and objective deduction from their actions. By the way, didn’t the Nazis also dabble in the generalization of an entire people as being inferior, stupid, inhuman, not to be given any real credence or platform? Sounds eerily familiar from what we find continually coming from the hard-left in the political spectrum today.

The blatant political and ideological slant to the left demonstrated by the Main Stream Media is becoming more and more obvious all the time. How can a person take them for “objective journalists” anymore unless they themselves subscribe to the same brand of leftism in the first place?

Although this NPR story comes as no surprise, the unfortunate reality of it is, their mindset is not isolated. The White House, Executive Branch, Senate, and the majority of the large media outlets on TV and in print are full of individuals of the same disposition.

Another Demonstration of the “Religion of Peace”

The prime suspect in the murder of two U.S. Airmen in Germany, Arif Uka, confessed to specifically targeting Americans. Authorities have stated that the murderer has ties to **big surprise** Islamic fundamentalist groups in Germany.

When is the spin on this religion as a “religion of peace” going to end? Are there peaceful Muslims who denounce murderous behavior from other Muslims? Yes, of course there are; however, these murderous zealots are by and large all Muslim.

And Obama is “outraged”…

Well, he should be. Especially given the fact the Muslims are his “brothers” and he has taken such great strides toward praising them, backing them up, and apologizing to them.

Wait for it…

Some left-winger is going to call me a “fear monger” for simply stating the obvious.

November 2nd: A Referendum on Out of Control Government

Upon opening our mail last Friday, my wife and I discovered first-hand another reason to not vote democrat. A pleasant letter from my health insurance provider candidly informed me that my monthly premium is set to increase by $55 a month effective December 1st! Knowing that this was going to be a nasty consequence of Obamacare, I wasn’t surprised in the least, yet reading that letter just reinforced my resolve against the current democratic monstrosity in Washington. I know some deniers out there will simply dismiss my complaint as a hypersensitivity to a grim fact that health insurance premiums traditionally increase annually. I am aware of this fact; however, the annual increases have typically been about 1% to 3%. This increase is a whopping 25%! Furthermore, this comes in the wake of the health care takeover that democrats forced upon us in the name of lowering our health care costs! They plainly did nothing to help lower our costs. In fact, these types of premium increases are happening across the country, and some insurance providors are even dropping coverage all together. So much for the lie of “…if you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance. If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor…”

I offer the following thanks to the democrats in power, (sarcasm intended):

Thank you President Obama, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Majority Leader Harry Reid and all the democrats in congress for taking food off of my table in difficult economic times. Thank you for overstepping your limits afforded by the constitution and force-placing your utopian dream of a government ran health care system upon the entire country.
Because of your reckless disregard of what the majority of Americans wanted, let alone the constitution, and your arrogant endangerment of our entire health care system, I will now have to spend less money at the grocery store, or on my kids, in order to accommodate the new $55 monthly bill handed to me by my insurance company—courtesy of your horribly misguided health care law.
Similar to millions of other Americans, my wife and I do not have much disposable income; we live paycheck to paycheck on a budget. We are the epitome of the “average American citizens” you claim to have an interest in assisting. A new $55 a month bill is not easily absorbed by our budget. We will have to cut costs in the only variable expense areas we have: groceries, gas, and what we can do for the kids.

The midterm elections today, November 2nd, will not be about restoring the republicans to power. Republicans may be uniquely positioned to be the undeserving beneficiaries of a destructive congress which has lost the faith of the American people; however, republicans currently fair equally as bad as democrats in the polls. This election is not about republicans or democrats; it is a referendum on the out of control party currently in power that refuses to listen to the majority desires of the American people. It may be fair to assert that they care about what some Americans think; however, they have made it painfully clear they absolutely do not care about what conservative Americans think--a dangerous thing to do given over half of this country still identifies itself with conservative principles.

The horrible legislation that we will have to endure because of the current failure-of-a-congress and presidential administration is staggering. Just for starters, the health care takeover, Stimulus, Bailouts, Cap and Trade, has crippled American business and will ensure slow economic growth for years to come—possibly indefinitely if not reformed or repealed Their inability to make a decision regarding the Bush tax-cuts has solidified business and consumer apprehension and lack of confidence in the government’s ability to back policy that will actually help revive the market. They have demonstrated a sluggish attitude toward getting people back to work in the private sector by extending unemployment benefits to a point where many people have actually stopped looking for a job—and why not, the federal government is paying them to stay home! The current party in power has demonstrated they posses an utter apathetic attitude toward national security and a retreatist and defeatist attitude to our mission in Iraq and Afghanistan. They have offered a dangerously low level of support for our only Ally in the Middle East: Israel. They have shown no desire to uphold federal law pertaining to illegal immigration. If debt was one thing they were so concerned about from the Bush administration, then they can just consider themselves an extension of the bush administration--on steroids.

They do not deserve to keep their jobs—we are a weaker and more vulnerable country as long as they are allowed to have Cart Blanche to enact their bad policies. Single party rule is not working. Given the state of the economy, unrelentingly high unemployment, and low consumer confidence, why would anyone be adamant about keeping the current party in power? One of the main benefits that Americans enjoy, over other countries, is that we have traditionally been a country with smaller government, yet bigger individuals. Immigrants come to this country in droves to benefit from this reality. If nothing is done to reverse the path we are currently beset upon, I am convinced authentic America--as it was designed to be from our founding--will become extinct.

I am so fed-up with lawmakers at almost every level—state and federal. I am absolutely of the opinion that, at this point, if an individual has been in politics for ten years or longer, republican, democrat, or independent--they need to go! They have done their time, and they have utterly failed. Being a politician should not be a carrier path, it should be temporary time spent to serve one’s country. The carrier politicians have been busy writing legislation and enacting policy that is totally incongruent with what is best for the prosperity of the country. They need to get out of the way of the breath of fresh air the country so desperately needs. We need new faces, new blood, and new politics in Washington. We need citizens who have worked hard in the private sector, ran businesses, signed paychecks, hired people, created jobs, and actually held leadership positions. Our very own president had never held a leadership position in his life until he was sworn in as our Commander in Chief.

Republicans and democrats have bilaterally failed. If tomorrow we find that the democrats have lost their majority in either the House or the Senate, it will not so much be a victory for republicans as it will be a rejection of the current party in power—a referendum. And if Republicans do not do everything in their power to right the country from its current course of failure, God willing, they will be voted out in 2012 too.

All that is left to do is vote, hope and pray for the true change that is needed bring the county back to excellence and prosperity. Today the country decides what path it will take: the path of large government, wide-spread government dependence, and a lower standard of living, or the path of smaller government, individual prosperity, and traditional American Exceptionalism. Today I will vote. Today I will part of this decision.

Conservatism: The Common Sense Lifeline in a Common Senseless Storm

Disclaimer:

Although I have read Mark Levin’s book Liberty and Tyranny, and consider myself an economic and social conservative, I do not intend for the purposes of this essay to regurgitate Levin’s concepts in Liberty and Tyranny. I decided to add this paragraph to inform the reader that Levin’s book is an inspiring look at conservatism vs. liberalism, or Statism as he refers to it, and many of my own thoughts and writings may tend to reflect concepts in Liberty and Tyranny. Although I by no means plagiarize Levin, I agree whole-heatedly in much of the roots, mechanisms, and elements of conservatism that he subscribes to.

Conservatives believe in the concept of equal opportunity, not equal outcome. The conservative believes in the opportunity for everyone to make their own fortune, better their position in life, and freely pursue and realize their goals and dreams. This concept has been roundly referred to world-wide as the American Dream. Never has this concept been referred to as the Russian Dream, the Ethiopian Dream, the Iranian Dream or the Canadian Dream. Always the American Dream. Millions of immigrants to this country over two centuries can attest to the draw and inspiration the American Dream can hold over the human spirit. As long as every individual has an equal opportunity to create, achieve, thrive, and succeed--those that desire to chase after what they want will do so, and ultimately make better themselves and the society as a whole. This is a large reason why the true conservative believes so ardently in limited government. True conservatives comprehend the concept of “the bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.” Trying to explain this truth to someone resigned to the notion that government is the answer to all of our problems is an exercise in futility. They would rather hand over their money, rights, and liberty to government for the sake of propagating the mystique of equal outcome—a fallacy that has never been successful, and never will. The Founders also staunchly believed in a limited government with enumerated powers, and the empowerment of the individual through liberty from too much government intrusion. Further strengthening the Founders model of limited central government is Federalism. Through Federalism, individual States have the ability to govern and tailor legislation to their own unique culture and socioeconomic landscape without the stigma of a large central government ruling from afar.

The conservative also comprehends the notion that, even when afforded equal opportunity, not everyone will rise to the mantel of achievement or desire to work hard to accomplish a goal or dream. This concept goes hand in hand with the reality that equal outcome is a false utopian dream. Some people will simply choose to live off of handouts and the work of others. However, as long as they live in a civil society which provides them equal opportunity to accomplish a goal or dream, if they choose to work for it, hope remains intact for the individual and the civil society.

Some actually choose not to live by the laws established by the society they live in, and ultimately, reject cooperatively contributing to the civil society altogether. Illegal immigrants come to mind. They have just as equal an opportunity to become a legal citizen as anyone else; however, no matter how good of a person they are at heart, they choose to reject the law and live according to what suits them, despite how damaging their actions can ultimately be to everyone else.

Such is life—and the conservative understands this; however, the conservative rejects the idea that those that work hard to achieve, create, accomplish, and pursue their American Dream are obligated, or worse yet, indeed forced to provide for those that choose not to achieve, work, or follow the laws of the land. This is one major reason why the conservative yearns for entitlement program and tax reform. The conservative believes in empowering people with the opportunity to make their own success.

One of the many entitlement program reforms the conservative seeks is social security reform. Individuals need the opportunity to plan their retirement savings in a manner that may yield a more successful return on their investment—in essence, keep the money they work hard to earn. And I don’t intend to indicate that everyone should stop paying social security taxes tomorrow and just dump all their money into the stock market—that would be foolish and unrealistic.

As it currently stands, social security is little more than a massive government mandated Ponzie scheme—transferring money from people who pay into the system to others who do not in an attempt to force the utopian dream of equal outcome. Many of the people drawing from social security end up receiving more than they ever put in—those on disability for instance. This reality alone should demonstrate how crucial social security reform is. Furthermore, social security is not some massive trust fund out there in a government bank account that people pay into with the hope of drawing the money out when they retire. The 6% social security tax that is eliminated from your every paycheck has already been spent. It is not sitting in savings earning interest waiting for you when you retire. Social security is a completely unfunded entitlement program which is in fact bankrupt; however, the government continues to write the checks anyway, understandably so, because it’s not like they can just turn the entitlement faucet off tomorrow. Plans need to be made, strategy mapped out, and some sacrifices taken, but the leftist in government drives on as if social security is an entitlement for all and in fact a blank check for the future.

I fully comprehend that many people currently benefit from social security. I work in the financial industry and see first-hand how social security is in fact some peoples’ only source of income. I know there are those receiving social security that paid into it during their entire working career, and thus earned it—my grandparents for instance; however, they are receiving a diminished return on what they actually paid in. Furthermore, once they die they cannot transfer the remaining social security they are entitled to over to their heirs—another nasty consequence of the government controlling an individuals retirement. Social security is a perfect example of how government has attempted to force equal outcome, and failed miserably.

Leftists, or progressives as they prefer to be called, put full stock in the concept of equal outcome rather than equal opportunity. Ironically enough, they claim to be the champions of equal opportunity; however, a closer look at the programs and legislation they support will quickly reveal the truth. As believers in equal outcome, they believe in redistribution of wealth and go as far as to label the “rich” as evil—that they require punishment through heavy taxation—as if they do not pay enough taxes already. Contrary to the progressives mantra that the wealthy do not pay their fair share of taxes, as it currently stands in America, the top 40% of earners already pay 70% of the tax burden. How much more do they need to pay? 60% of the population is paying 30% of the tax burden and in 2009 alone, 40% of the people didn’t even end up paying income taxes at all, they received a tax return. Just look on the IRS website and note the tax brackets. The “rich” already pay between 33% and 35% of their gross income to federal taxes, and if the Bush tax cuts from 2002 are allowed to expire, that will increase to 39.6%. So, by and large, who is paying the majority of the taxes in this country? Do the math…

Some might say, “You just want to protect the rich while the middle and lower class suffer!” My response is two-fold: First off, the ignorance of the aforementioned mind-set is staggering to say the least; however, unfortunately many people feel this way. Of course I want to protect the rich, or rather the “wealth” in this country, but not in an unethical money-mongering way as the anticapitalist incorrectly presumes. Protecting the wealth and those who have accumulated it is mostly an economic necessity!

For the sake of stimulating some rational thought, I would ask the leftist to contemplate the following questions:

• Who do you think are the job creators, entrepreneurs, and property owners who largely employ the “middle and lower class” in this country?

• Who are the people that own businesses, hire people, and help create competition in the market, ultimately leading to decreases in price?

• Who do you think took risks, created businesses that gave way to product innovation and technology advancement in this country?

• Who spends higher volumes of money in the private sector, thus stimulating the economy way more than government ever can?

The answer to all of the above questions is not government; it is those evil rich people that leftists want to tax to death!

Here is some ‘Economics 101’ food for thought:

If more tax revenue is the ultimate objective, raising taxes can actually be counterproductive to the end goal. Raising taxes constricts businesses and limits the ability to hire more people, take risk, expand, and spend. Getting people back to work will make more progress toward creating tax revenue simply because there will be more people in the workforce paying taxes. Imaging how much more tax revenue the government would benefit from of the country was back to 4% or 5% unemployment as opposed to the 10% we are currently at…
Raising taxes—any kind of taxes for anyone--in a recession is counterproductive to recovering from the recession because it stifles growth and does not facilitate sufficient job creation. This is one of the many reasons why taking on such incredible amounts of debt (the Stimulus, Bail-out’s, Obamacare, etc. etc.) is so detrimental to our overall economic progress.

I want to ensure that the wealthy and the business owners in this country can keep what they have earned (insert concept of American Dream here) and keep spending the way they do and thus keep their means intact to create jobs, initiate more business innovation, and positively stimulate the economy. This is not a left or right political issue. One either accepts basic economic principles, or they reject them and insert their own emotion-based or dogma-based ideologies. Businesses do not hire more people when they are stifled by heavy tax burdens and uncertainty in the marketplace, and businesses definitely do not hire more when they have zero confidence that the government is not going to help foster an economic recovery by getting out of their way. This is why under the Obama administration unemployment has been allowed to soar and has failed to go back down. The American business construct is showing its lack of confidence in this congress and administration. Bear in mind, the democrats have been in complete control of both houses of congress for the last four years—and the White house for the last two. Furthermore, as long as we demonize and punish wealth in this country we will stifle and constrict the entrepreneurial spirit that is traditionally unique to this nation and ultimately, is the spirit that creates jobs! Punishing wealth creation in this country effectively stops risk-takers in their tracks, does not incent businesses to take chances, and overall, darkens the American Dream. Why would anyone work as hard as they can to earn wealth when it is just going to be punished and taken from them anyway? Why would anyone get off their butt to go earn a living and contribute to the economy when the government will take from the earners and redistribute to those who choose not to earn?

Unfortunately, America is overrun with government full of leftists and progressives. This means our own government leans more toward the concept of forcing equal outcome and legislates accordingly. Under the rule of those that believe equal outcome can be governed, legislated, or created, some very destructive things occur. People who work hard to earn, create and achieve are forced to pay for those who do not so that the illusion of equal outcome can be upheld. Thus, the leftist supports higher taxation and government controlled entitlements. They just forced healthcare upon the entire country as a government-provided entitlement. Rather than empowering the individual with equal opportunity to work hard and create their own wealth, and spend their money they way they choose, equal outcome believers must force their ideology upon the populace because it does not naturally exist. The equal outcome utopia requires a lot of government programs and regulations. Inflating government is an expensive enterprise; however, it is necessary in the mind of a leftist because equal outcome must be legislated. To the conservative, growing government and increasing government programs equals taxes, taxes, and more taxes and ultimately less freedom, choice, and liberty. The conservative comprehends that the believers in equal outcome will choose to raise taxes in order to financially facilitate their inflated government and throng of government programs. They will not eliminate or reduce the programs set in place, for the programs are required to facilitate their utopian dream. Unfortunately taxes can never be raised high enough to pay for it all, so another destructive consequence of the leftist utopian dream is inflation, and a lousy dollar. In order to keep interest rates artificially low, they then have to print more money. This can lead to the cost of products and services going up, yet does nothing for income or standard of living—and actually, standard of living will decrease during inflationary periods, damaging the very people they claim to support the most—the lower and middle class.

Further legislating economically destructive policy, the Leftists in government then may decide to raise the minimum wage in an effort to project the notion that they are thinking of the “little guy”, that they support the “average” working American. They will propagate many heart-wrenching stories of how hard it is for the middle and lower class citizen to make a living and raise a family—they must be given more money for their hard work—they simply must! Unfortunately, all a forced wage increase does to the economy is force prices to increase yet again. What once was a $5 burger at your local diner will become a $7 burger in an effort to offset the increase in cost of doing business. Furthermore, they may (and actually did) legislate bad policy which entitles people to a home--even if they do not qualify for the mortgage.

The sick part of this destructive spiral is that it was the leftist’s bad economic policies which made it difficult for the average citizen to make a living in the first place and ultimately, guess who is going to be there with open arms, entitlement programs and welfare when the individual is disenfranchised, bled dry, and broken? The very same leftist! This keeps those disenfranchised citizens voting for the leftist rather than against. I am undecided as to whether the leftist is simply an economic imbecile with no concept of the future or the “big picture”, or a sly genius subtly orchestrating a massive strategy to keep people dependant on government and thus voting accordingly.

What is so amazing about the speech Regan was giving here is it was given in the 60’s! It’s as if he were giving insight directly to us in our political climate today. We have a dysfunctional, arrogant government bent on passing legislation that is against the will of the people, and their actions will fundamentally change this nation for the worse—yet, they press on. Cap and Tax was just passed in the House. Are they genuinely trying to break the country, or are they just so insulated and out of touch with the American people and how to improve the economy that they pass reckless legislation under the mantra of “hope and change”? Meanwhile, our President plays more rounds of golf in 20 months than his predecessor did in eight years!

It dosent matter. The majority of the people in the country are against this administration, this congress, and the direction they are taking us. And it is up to us to bring the run-away train to a screeching halt before our country is unrecognizable.

Tyranny, Taxes, and Tanning

What encroaches upon liberty? What replaces liberty when liberty is lost? The answer is tyranny. Call tyranny by any other name: totalitarianism, despotism, dictatorship, oppression, and tyranny is still tyranny—the antithesis of liberty.

When government pays for a product or service for the governed it creates a nasty liberty-compromising consequence. Once government pays for something, they make whatever they paid for their business, and the people lose out on a little something called: Choice. Look at it this way; you can’t just go get a driver’s license at any Macy’s can you? No, you have to go to the one place and one place only--the dreaded DMV. This was one of the many reasons so many liberty-loving Americans were so adamantly opposed to the federal government take-over of our health care industry.

Obamacare painfully articulates the dark truth about the current administration and congressional democrats: Their agenda will trump personal freedom and liberty every time. They would much rather dictate to you how you should run your life. Of course, they think they are mandating things which are for your own good; however, as C.S. Lewis pointed out in God in the Dock, “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive”.

For a relevant example, look at the 10% tax increase on indoor tanning beds congressional democrats wrote into their health care overhaul. This is a perfect example of how they do not think you are worthy of personal freedom and liberty of choice—how you are too stupid to make personal choices on your own.

Fundamentally speaking, I can understand where their health-conscious thinking comes from. Most sane, rational people value their health, and I would go as far as to contend anyone not living in an underground cavern for the last 50 years comprehends the potential risks associated with too much exposure of UV light on their precious sensitive skin. However, if you want to lay under UV lights from time to time in order to keep others from writhing in agony every time you wear shorts or remove your shirt because their retina cant stand the white-glare you emit, you should be able to do so at your digression—without being taxed by the federal government!

Sales for non-essential luxuries are down already due to the state of the economy. Why impose an additional tax burden on businesses? Anyone who at least understands the basics of economics comprehends that raising taxes—any kind of taxes—during a recession is counterproductive to recovering from the recession. People do not go into business to hire other people; they go into business to first-and-foremost make money. Hiring people is a byproduct of making money. Only when a business makes money and needs to grow will it hire more. When businesses get taxed—when the money they work hard to generate is taken from them, when government intervenes more—they hire less, or worse still, shrink their workforce. I know it is hard for the current administration to comprehend these economic fundamentals, but what should we expect given the vast majority of them have never worked in the private sector… One of the main reasons we have not seen unemployment go down since the Obama regime took over is because they have forced themselves too deep into our GDP. We will not see unemployment go back to 4 or 5 percent until government shrinks, and that will not happen as long as democrats are in control of congress. They have been in control of congress for four years now.

Anyway, back to the tanning tax; can anyone intelligently articulate to me why it is the prerogative of the federal government to tax tanning? The aforementioned question is facetious by the way; I know exactly why they are taxing tanning. The federal government just bought our entire health care industry which means they will now legislate how we live our lives as it pertains to health (according to their agenda of course).

When will enough be enough? What exactly is too overreaching? Where is the limit? If they can basically tax our right, choice, and privilege to tan indoors, what’s next? By their logic, they should be taxing anything and everything that can be potentially hazardous to our health—just look at what they have done to the price of cigarettes. Should they line the beaches with toll booths so that those wanting to sun-bathe in the free and open air have to pay a tax to do so? Or how about eating a nice greasy fat-filled cheese burger? Why don’t we pay a federal tax to do that? Why not pay a federal tax to drive a vehicle? God knows driving is potentially hazardous to your health, and liberals love to demonize the automobile for it’s consumption of oil and vicious destruction of the environment. Why doesn’t the federal government tax or ban all sodium and sugar, and why not federally mandate that we all have to do 20 sit-up’s and jog for 20 minutes a day? I had better stop there, I am starting to sound 1984ish and some congressional democrat will read this and start thinking “Hey those are some great ideas…” Too late, it has already started. My point is: there is no limit to what they will try to control unless we the people put a stop to it and vote them out of office!

The left called us crazy when we said Obamacare will lead to rationing, but look what just happened. Obama personally appointed—no congressional hearings mind you—Donald Berwick, the unabashed socialist as head of Medicare and Medicaide, and guess what? He is in favor of rationing! He favors a government dictated “point system” which assigns points to people based upon how many times they visit a doctors office. The higher points you accrue (more doctor visits you have) the lower on the list you are placed. So in other words, my 85 year old grandpa had better not get sick or need surgery any time soon because based on the doctor visits he has had in the past 24 months, he has accrued a lot of “points”. Scary.

What is it again that replaces liberty when liberty is lost?

Tyranny.

Reflections This Independence Day

The Declaration of Independence, elegant in its composition, forthright in its annotation of Natural Law, and moving in its conviction, is an authentic American founding document as important as the Constitution itself. Abraham Lincoln referred to the Declaration of Independence as “an immortal emblem of man's humanity” and “the father of all moral principle because it incorporates a rational, nonarbitrary, moral and political standard”.

As the Declaration asserts:
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The pursuit of happiness cannot be sought without liberty, and liberty cannot be had without life. Oppressed people throughout history have known this undeniable truth all too well.

To be sure, the founding fathers of our nation were an unconventional and radical lot for their time. By standing up for the laws of nature and openly opposing tyranny they marked themselves as independent thinkers, believers in liberty and natural law – the same natural law which provides certain undeniable rights for humankind.
Many of the founders were executed as traitors for their beliefs pertaining to the unalienable rights the Declaration so boldly proclaims. By signing the Declaration of Independence some founders were indeed signing their own death warrant.

So moved were the French by America’s embrace of independence and defiance of tyranny that they bestowed upon our nation one of the most iconic tributes to liberty the world has known. For 124 years the Statue of Liberty has stood, foot forward, arm raised, torch in hand as an undeniable reminder: Liberty is an American value. This torch shines its light on the land of the free and the home of the brave.

The composition of the Declaration of Independence forged for this nation an experiment never seen before in the history of humankind. To this day the American Experiment endures scrutiny and disdain from forces both domestic and foreign. Some seek to redirect, recreate, and “change” the fundamental nature and original intent of the Declaration of Independence. Further still, some even try to argue that the Constitution is a “living breathing” document up for individual interpretation.
As American citizens, we benefit from the honor, privilege, and right to maintain the integrity of our government as it was so brilliantly conceived by our forefathers. The honor of having a government of the people, by the people, and for the people comes from our duty to ensure no one President, administration, or political party or foreign power ever succeeds in bastardizing the Declaration of Independence or Constitution—that our elected officials never reach beyond the scope of limited power they are entrusted with.
This Independence Day, let us remember the Declaration of Independence and how it is still relevant today. Let us remember those that risked everything, even gave their lives, so that future generations would benefit from living in a free and independent nation. On this day, let us celebrate and revere our Independence!

With Apologies and Double Standards For All

When President Obama invited the President of Mexico, Felipe Calderón, to the White House and allowed him to lecture the United States on his opinion regarding Arizona’s recent decision to enforce illegal immigration law, Obama revealed an ugly fly in the ointment of his appeasement policy regarding foreign affairs – a double standard that can no longer go unnoticed.

During his “apology for America” tour Obama revealed he was of the belief no country had the right to tell another country what to do – and yet at Obama's beckon, Calderón stood on American soil and chastised the US for Arizona’s attempt at enforcing federal law regarding illegal immigration. Deepening the double standard, in the midst of his apology tour Obama directly told Israel not to build settlements on their own land.

I contend – through logic and common sense – even the most hardened liberal can easily point out the glaring contradictions Obama has presented in his actions and reactions when it comes to representing America and interacting with other nations – namely Israel.

Moreover, Obama has dangerously shown much hesitance in “telling” Iran through hard-line sanctions not to build weapons designed to wipe nations from the face of the earth – a much more atrocious action than building settlements on land one doesn’t need to seek permission to build upon. Unfortunately for Americans (yet fortunately for those that wish us harm) Obama has not even shown much interest in condemning radical factions and regimes that have declared war on us and our allies.

It seems The President is more concerned with beating the “blame America first” drum than standing in defense of our constitution, sovereignty, and friends. This type of depressing behavior does nothing but discourage Americans and encourage our enemies. What can be said about a country whose Commander in Chief apologizes profusely to other nations for his country’s influence and strength in the world, snubs his only ally in the Middle East, and most recently, condemns a State law which enforces already existing federal law?

Although I do not think it is fair to say Obama hates America, I feel it’s accurate to say he does not speak with the conviction and passion of one who holds authentic American love and loyalty in his heart. In my observation, Obama’s default manner and conduct is to identify with people that have grievances with America, and in my humble opinion as an American citizen and Marine veteran, he sympathizes with these types of people far too much for an American President.

The whole business regarding Arizona enforcing federal immigration law polarizes people because it reveals an ugly truth among Americans. Some view national security, protecting our boarders, and enforcing federal law as paramount to our Nation's sovereignty. Others do not. Our President and his administration seem to be of the later persuasion.

The issue of boarder security is not whether immigrants are good or bad people – as the left on the issue so adamantly stress -- nor is the issue whether law enforcement officials will all-of-a-sudden start perpetrating mindless random racial profiling of anyone not of a light skin tone now that they can finally enforce immigration law in their state.
The root of the issue is enforcement of the law, or apathy of law enforcement. Realistically speaking, the only people I have found concerned with making this an issue about race are the very people attempting to divide people on the subject by using their emotional opinions regarding race. By creating an erroneous pretext by using race as the fuel for their agenda they divert and avoid hitting the brass-tacks on the issue: Do we enforce our laws or do we not? Any village idiot can make this issue about race, but common sense loving people prefer not to bother themselves with witless arguments on this multifaceted issue.

Let me make one thing very clear: Like millions of Americans who believe in American Exceptionalism and authentic American values, I view immigration to this country as a good thing. Yes, I am pro immigration. As Dr. Bill Bennett would say, America is the last best hope for humanity, and I agree with him. Obviously millions of immigrants in this country agree with him as well. The elegant meaning of the Latin motto E Pluribus Unum: many uniting into one, proudly graces our nation’s Official Seal. Our currency also carries the motto as a constant reminder: Out of many, we are one.

As a responsible American citizen however, I also support federal law as it pertains to immigrants obtaining citizenship legally. The bottom line is: dissent to the Arizona law from anyone, whether from a President of a nation or an actual illegal alien basically advocates lawlessness. Furthermore, groaning about enforcement of federal immigration law is a slap in the face to the millions of law-abiding immigrants who had the dream, integrity, honor, and fortitude to become an American citizen legally – for it is not a capricious task.

I have read Arizona SB 1070 and find it completely reasonable. I contend any reasonable person who actually takes the fifteen minutes required to read it would agree with me. Although the law itself will not do much to curtail illegal immigration, it will -- as an enforcement law -- provide law enforcement officials the much needed legal recourse to do what our tax dollars pay for – enforce the law!

I find it utterly astounding that high-profile public officials such as President Obama, President of Mexico, Felipe Calderón, and even Attorney General Holder have publicly opposed the Arizona law without even knowing what the law says or does. And calling for a boycott of Arizona commerce or business is as juvenile as it is disgusting. Anyone advocating this type of behavior is advocating lawlessness, illegality, and perpetuating a gross perversion of a state’s right to protect itself. Prematurely and unjustly jumping to the liberally-conceived and divisive conclusion that this issue is about race reveals one’s ignorance on the matter.

Is this really what the present administration has reduced us to? Are we so divided and categorized through fabrications of the media’s propaganda that we cannot see clearly the root or truth of an issue? This type of dismal behavior is simply appalling, especially coming from a President who ran a campaign on Hope and Change and bringing people together.

The federal government is charged with protecting our boarders – it is in our constitution. Arizona enacting a very popular law that helps enforce current federal immigration law is necessary and just; however, it also sheds light on how big a problem illegal immigration is in our country when a state enacts a law that the White House condemns and federal government refuses to enforce.

I would like to offer a vigorous salute to Arizona for SB 1070. Immigration has never a problem in America; however, Illegal immigration is a major problem, and I am proud of Arizona for stepping in the right direction regarding a sensitive yet important issue. Regardless of the dissent and mischaracterization coming from the left and the current occupants of the White House, I sincerely hope Arizona’s decision to make a concerted effort to do something about illegal immigration will positively influence illegal immigration reform. Those that would try to besmirch supporters of SB 1070 as racist-right-wing-nut jobs are wrong in every connotation of reasonability and rationale.

The Amazing Insight of Bill Maher

If you are a racist, you are probably a republican!
At least that is what far-left-loons like Bill Maher believe. Last Sunday he revealed his staggering narrow-minded-madness on the ABC morning show, This Week. Although This Week is routinely graced by left-leaning panelists, Bill out-did himself. This Week – as liberally slanted as it is – at least attempts to maintain the perception that it is a legitimate political show worthy of an intelligent audience. Bill Maher on the other hand specifically speaks to and for other far-left-loons. His ignorant assertions are to be used for comedic purposes only and not worthy of any real credence or merit.

I will allow Bill’s own words to prove my point:

Maher: "Government intrusion, you know government power, is something that really bothers conservatives unless it's directed at people that are not white. It seems like there is something like that going on there."

I think George Will was utterly flabbergasted by the mind-numbing ignorance of Bill’s statement.

Will: "Mr. Maher, just said -- if I heard him right -- that conservatives basically are racists and like government intrusion only against people that aren't white."

Maher, in attempt to back-step makes an even bigger ass out of himself and insults republicans.

Maher: "I would never say and I have never said, because it's not true that Republicans, all Republicans are racists. That would be silly and wrong. But nowadays, if you are racist, you're probably a Republican. And that is quite different."

Thank you Bill, the insight and brilliance of your comments are absolutely staggering! In reality, there is nothing “quite different” about it. The only part of his statement that had merit was “…it’s not true…all republican are racist. That would be silly and wrong.”
That is silly and wrong; however, he crapped allover that statement with the whole ‘if you are racist, you are probably a republican’ thing.

This type of rhetoric is as daft as saying “If you are a democrat, you are probably stupid.” There is absolutely nothing fact-based contained in this opinionated assertion of generalizing non-sense whatsoever.
Unfortunately for the intelligent listener out there, Bill Maher has a large platform to spew his blathering puke from. His ilk would claim the same for Rush Limbaugh and other similar conservative thinkers; however, Rush and individuals like him tend to keep their arguments rooted in fact and truth rather than emotional opinion. If you don’t like Rush – that’s fine; however, I contend that you cannot argue with the facts and truth he tirelessly presents.

As a side note: Every time I notice someone mention how much they hate Rush, I don’t ask why, I ask if they listen to his radio show. The answer is almost always an emphatic NO! So if you have a negative opinion of him yet never listen to his show isn’t it safe to say your opinion is basically a fabrication of the media’s propaganda? Just food for thought…

Those of us who choose to the listen to conservative speakers (while we still have the right) enjoy doing so because we are attracted to truth and common sense. Conservative TV and radio show hosts such as Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, Sean Hanity, Mark Leven, Hugh Hewitt, Dennis Prager, Laura Ingram, Mike Gallagher, Jason Lewis, Ann Coulter, et al tend to deliver facts and offer concrete rationale instead of slushy conjecture. By doing this, they perform the job our lefty media is derelict in doing.

Common sense loving people tend to appreciate arguments more when fact and truth are presented first, opinion second. Liberal-loons like Bill Maher are notorious for spouting opinion, followed by more opinion as if it were fact. The troublesome part of their rhetoric is that truth is relative to these people. Truth is what they “feel” to be true. It doesn’t matter if they can’t provide any intelligent arguments or objective facts – if they “feel” it is true, they will project what they feel as the truth.

For Bill Maher (a white liberal), and for many other white liberals, only conservative whites can be racist. Furthermore, they can only be racist by the terms that white liberals define.

Anyway, this is what ABC gets for having a white liberal comedian as a guest on a political morning show.

Thanks for revealing yourself to a national audience as what you are Bill – a far-left-loon. Of course, other far-left-loons insatiably gobbled-up your mindless comments and asked for seconds; however, those of us who prefer a little more truth, fact and common sense in our rhetoric are still laughing at you. How low will sleaze-bag liberals stoop to marginalize, mischaracterize, and bring discredit to anyone who does not think/feel the way they do?

Apparently they are willing to lie and misrepresent themselves in order to bring erroneous discredit upon others. Crashtheteaparty.org is such a group. Forget constructive, civil, intelligent means of disagreeing such as, oh I don’t know, DEBATE.

Oh no, crashtheteaparty.org sympathizers are dedicated to infiltrating the TEA parties as if they were like-minded yet misrepresenting themselves in various moronic, racist, and potentially damaging ways in an effort to damage and discredit. Aren’t these people lovely? Basically, these people are willing to make complete asses of themselves simply because they do not agree with the TEA parties or the people that do.

Jason Levin, creator of crashtheteaparty.org was quoted in AP as saying
"Do I think every member of the tea party is a homophobe, racist or a moron? No, absolutely not. Do I think most of them are homophobes, racists or morons? Absolutely."

And there you have it folks: The ugly underbelly of the left. I wish I knew a whole bunch of these people, they sound like they would make wonderful friends! They think they are so much better than you; anything you believe in has got to be stupid, moronic, racist, or out-dated, right? They are not even willing to take tea partiers to task and construct civil debates or create opportunities for exchange of thoughts on the issues. They just childishly seek to destroy using sleazy tactics. And why not? You are nothing more than a dumb, uneducated, red-neck, racist-gun-freak out to spew your hate against Obama and his administration simply because he is not a republican and he’s black… (Well, half-black anyway) The Lame Stream media has labeled you as such, so it has to be true! Right?

Right now, leftists – and I don’t just mean liberals I’m talking about the True Believers – are in a state of flux. They are currently in a form of denial because their Oracle – The Chosen One – is not blindly supported by all, and of course in their emotional opinions, people who do not support Obama and his administration must be monumentally stupid or racist or both.

As a matter of fact, Obama’s approval numbers are reaching record lows for the first term of any President. It’s not just the TEA Parties – people are on to this administration's divisive tactics and aristocratic, arrogant view of themselves. People know that there is not a single person working in the White House that ever worked in the private sector – you know – the Real World, where you actually create wealth, drive the economy, run a business, meet a payroll etc.

The TEA Parties send leftists into a complete state of irritation and anger because leftists do not know how to debate facts. They use emotion in their arguments, rarely logic. So rather than actually debate they attempt to smear, suppress, marginalize and discredit their opposition.

For a relevant example, look at the April 19th article in the New York Times former President Bill Clinton wrote. The article appears to be a remembrance letter of the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing. However, halfway through, the article takes a turn and jumps on the “everyone who disagrees with the current political climate is a terrorist” band-wagon that the left has recently created out of desperation. Basically he marks anyone who does not fully support our current politicians in power as violent, fringe-crazies – that we need to be watchful of these people as they are probably prone to committing horrible terrorist acts much like Timothy McVeigh did. Gee, thanks for the partisan low-blow Bill, your insight is as enlightening as it is nausiating. I think your article would have worked better if you were actually a King or better yet, some sort of deity. But as it is, you are not a King, and whenever you talk-down to the general public, especially when you did nothing to calm the clamor against your predecessor for eight years, people take notice, and guess what? They don’t like it!

This is one of the many reasons our lefty media is going the way of the Dodo. People are getting tired of their crap, plain and simple.

I saw a vehicle today with a multitude of marginalizing and misguided bumper-stickers such as: “Free Palestine from the occupation”, “Free speech means questioning those that are free”.
I can’t remember all of them – there had to be at least a dozen.

I was moved by the staggeringly backwards mind-set that the bumper-stickers were proudly projecting.
So painfully obvious was the fact that this person had to be distinctly ignorant, or anti-Semitic, or both. Palestine is a terrorist group. Anyone arguing otherwise is a Palestinian or just plain ignorant.
Furthermore, aside from the painfully obvious ignorance and prejudice of the bumper-stickers, the stench of radical-leftism reeked from the vehicle; the kind of pungent stink that could only come from a true believer. This type of aficionado mind-set kept people believing the world was flat long after mathematics proved otherwise.

“Free speech means questioning those that are free” implies a myriad of mischaracterizations of genuine “free speech”. Such blathering is to be expected from one who proudly endorses Palestine – an organization which tramples and despises free speech, personal freedom, and civil rights as Western evils that are to be eradicated.

In truth, free speech means exactly what it describes – the freedom to speak or communicate. It implies nothing inside the realm of only speaking to or “questioning” those who are free. Free speech -- referring to questioning those that are free -- automatically indicates that the one doing the questioning is inherently not free.

Does this message indicate that one is to question freedom -- that free speech questions freedom? Communists would emphatically say: YES! Furthermore, they would use that argument to limit the speech of the people. History is clear on this point.
Regardless of what it is supposed to convey, any scenario that I could decipher from that ridiculous bumper-sticker was insipid and common senseless at best.

As a Marine and someone who has been deployed overseas in service of our extraordinary country, I find myself feeling sorry for the poor sap driving the vehicle tattooed with several mind-numbing and unintelligent slogans.

This person clearly has no idea what Authentic American values are, how much Americans have sacrificed to keep our values and beliefs alive in our country – how much we have sacrificed for the good of other nations, or how to articulate what being an American means.

They clearly know exactly how to articulate anti-American beliefs and values. More depressing though is the idea that by virtue of knowing how to articulate anti-American values one may fundamentally know what authentic American values are and simply reject or disdain them.

And that is why the battle for America is not against any country or group outside our boarders. It is against the left – right here within our own boarders.

Of all of the things America needs right now -- of all the help -- Obamacare is one of the last. Americans did a pretty good job of conveying that concept – of bringing validity to their opposition to Obamacare; however, our wonderful elected officials in all their wisdom and insight forced it upon us anyway.
If the list of things America needs right now was, say, 1,000 items long, Obamacare would be in the high 900’s.

Don’t just take my word for it; consider some of the facts:

California for instance is currently running a $20 billion deficit. Obamacare forces $3 billion in new government mandates upon the already bankrupt state over the next three years. This directly equates to more constrictive business practices, more jobs lost, less businesses hiring, and higher state mandated fees and yes, even more taxes.

Obamacare forces major employers such as AT&T, John Deere, and Caterpillar to pay taxes on the new federal subsidies that are being forced upon them. A (unintended I’m sure) consequence of this is they are going to have to write off billions in losses for the year. The bottom line negative effect of this: more jobs lost and less hiring.

Medtronic, just one of many medical device manufacturers, announced they may have to fire about 1,000 employees as a result of the new 2.3% tax on certain medical devices imposed on them by Obamacare.

The list goes on and on. For brevity sake, I'll leave it here. However, I can easily compose a page or more dedicated to the maleffects of Obamacare -- and probably will do so in the near future.

Obamacare, with all of its horrendous complications, mind numbing costs, and unpopularity has been thrust upon the country at probably the worst possible time. Our countries economy is still reeling from approaching the brink of disaster in late 2008, unemployment is still at record highs -- costing us $10 billion per month in unemployment benefits, and some states like Michigan and California are at the door step of complete economic meltdown. We are occupying two separate theaters of war in Iraq and Afghanistan, and Iran has nukes while this administration astonishingly snubbs Israel -- our ONLY ally in the middle east.

What is it about this administration that possesses them to force Obamacare through despite its unpopularity and the fact that a fundamentally altering our entire health care industry is not even one of the top things America needs right now?
What is it about the American Dream that Democrats find so vile and in need of destroying anyway? Their policies and actions represent a mindset consumed with taking from those who produce, create, and work and redistributing to those who don’t or won’t – regardless of the negative side effects.
By observing Democrats in action, one can easily make the case (if they didn’t know any better) that the American Dream is an entitlement for those who are not legal citizens, don’t speak English, don’t pay any income taxes, and/or don’t want to work. This version of the ‘American Dream’ is to be handed out by a government that takes from those who worked hard to achieve and redistributed to those that do not achieve.

Honestly, we shouldn’t be so naive to act shocked or surprised at this. Entitlements are the opiate of the people and government is the pipe. People of this mentality rely on this type of government so they can quite literally sit at home, smoke from a pipe and still collect a check.

Any bum can attest to this concept in practice. If he is on a corner that isn’t subsidizing him anything, he moves to one that does. Once he finds such a corner that provides him whatever he feels is necessary he stays put. I witness this every day on my way to work as I drive through down-town Denver. Typically, it is the same bums on the same corners. Why would they put in the effort required to find a job or better their situation through hard work when they are being supplemented by others on a regular basis?
Interestingly enough, I have observed the occasional entrepreneurially inclined bums dabbling in a form of target marketing by brandishing signs with particularly zany or comedic message in hopes of pulling in more business. Some of my personal favorites: “Need parts to repair my space ship”, “Saving for a hooker”, and of course the always candid – “No excuses, just need a beer”.

Of course some sales-enterprising inclined bums will attempt to improve their plight by peddling in crowded areas, and more impressive yet, some artistically persuaded bums actually have a unique act or musical talent they display to the masses in hopes of compensation.

Unemployment benefits show us the same proof of reliance on entitlements. The longer unemployment benefits are offered – the longer people tend to stay unemployed.
I wonder how many (well intentioned yet misguided) people actually walked into doctors offices across the country the day after Obamacare was passed and expected to receive some sort of treatment completely for free...
What is more interesting to ponder is the kind of “Are you effing kidding me?” looks doctors’ office personnel gave these people…

If you support Obama and Obamacare – God bless you, but I challenge you to exercise some of Obama’s hope and change into a practical application next time you go out to eat. Hilarity will ensue – I promise, and the wait staff and restaurant management will especially appreciate your shining example of Obama’s vision for America.

Here’s what you do:

Make sure to go out with as many people as you can gather in an effort to drive the bill to a nauseating level and the waiter and staff will have to really work to accommodate everyone.
Order anything and everything you want, especially if you have no intention of consuming it. Have drinks, appetizers, main dishes, more drinks, and be sure to stay there a long time – making double sure the staff has worked extra hard to keep everyone satisfied.
When the bill arrives, inform the waiter that you won’t be paying. Announce that you are putting Obama’s vision for America into practice and that actually, it will be the responsibility of the individuals who worked to accommodate your table to cover the bill -- the cooks, bartenders, waiters, and possibly even management for covering the bill in its entirety.
Furthermore, inform the waiter that you will only pay the tip on one condition: that it is given to the homeless guy outside on the corner because he is clearly in greater ‘need’ of it. Despite the staff’s overwhelming disapproval of your decision, the economic nonsense and glaring illegality of your scheme – be sure to INSIST this is the ONLY way this business can be transacted from now on.
Let me know how that works out for ya!

Of course, it’s laughable to think this would ever happen in the real world; however, congress just passed Obamacare. What was once laughable is now law. In essence, they just enacted this little practical application (joke) into law, except their version is on a gargantuanly larger scale and the place that we all get to go to now will be a grease-spoon diner instead of a five star restaurant – and some will die waiting in line…

I love this quote!
Every time I read it I am encouraged. I am encouraged to know there are people out there who ‘get it’ – past and present. One can find many similar quotes like this from Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin and many other founding fathers. These people understood the dangers of big government, and established a Republic, a form of government of the people with many checks and balances in order to circumvent it from getting out of control.

In a time when our media is saturated with a homogonous, left-leaning slant that ostracizes even the most innocuous opposition to their agenda, in a time when our current president is not a center-governing president of the People but rather an ideological president only of his own party, in a time when the people who oppose our current staggering lurch to the left have become the “infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.” -- I take comfort in quotes like these.

Not because of the content of the quote – for the content, true as it is, is not encouraging by itself – I am comforted because I know there are millions of other Americans out there who feel the same way. Actually, last I checked, the people who are “very satisfied” or “satisfied” with the current direction of the country are in the minority. Check any non liberal-rag pole right now for verification.

Better yet, don’t even look up the polls. Go out and ask people. The lame stream media is a total inverse barometer of what people really think. Other than Fox, getting fair and balanced news is about as futile as asking for a glass of ice water in Hell.
And congress?
They have proven themselves to be an incompetent mass of inept partisans bent on radically altering the fundamental nature of our country. Go talk to the people. Read their blogs. Find out for yourself. My contention is that there are a lot more people out there that grasp the aforementioned C.S. Lewis quote that you may have thought.

Future Question for Democrats: Was it all worth it?

Picture an interview a year from now. The November 2010 mid-term elections over, ObamaCare solidly locked into law, the post ObamaCare ego-messaging, sycophantic, gushing media praise replaced by undeniable public outcry and disillusionment that is fully reflected in the polls. The reality of what was done finally staring to sink it, and the question “was it all worth it” needs to be asked answered.

A future question to the 220 individuals who voted yes for ObamaCare in the House:

Was it all worth it?

• Was losing the democratic super-majority in congress worth it?
• Was tainting the democratic reputation in Washington, possibly for years to come, worth it?
• Was painfully passing a horrendous bill by unorthodox and unethical means worth it?
• Was deepening the American discord with “Washington-politics-as-usual” worth it?
• Was the fallout of health insurance companies being forced to RAISE rates as a consequence of this bill – even after you PROMISED your bill would lower rates worth it?
• Was burying 16% of the nation’s economy in more red-tape, bureaucracy, regulation, and government programs – further deepening American’s forced dependence on government worth it?
• Was presenting the nonsensical notion that a trillion dollar price tag would reduce the deficit by 1.3 billion over ten years worth it?
• Was labeling the opposition to your bill as stupid and uninformed worth it?
• Was sidestepping accountability for an extremely unpopular and unwanted bill worth it?
• Was taxing citizens immediately for elements that they will not see for three more years worth it?
• Was lying to the American People worth it?

Unfortunately for America, the answer from any far leftist focused on the ideological premise of altering America into a more socialized, Marxist-looking country will be a quite emphatic: Yes!

President Obama made multiple references to not caring about the political fallout of passing his administration’s party-line health care reform bill. Astoundingly, he even made reference to not really caring how procedure was handled in passing the bill. Shocking! The President of the United States – a former professor of constitutional law – doesn’t care how the biggest change to the American political and cultural landscape since FDR’s New Deal came to be law. The most insulting aspect of Obama’s apathy to America’s disapproval of ObamaCare is how he had the audacity to claim during his interview with Fox News Correspondent Bret Baier on 3/17/10 that the American people don’t really care how the bill gets passed anyway.

What a day we live in! We elected a president who ran a campaign under the hope of changing Washington, and he has the ignorant nerve to say we don’t care how comprehensive, sweeping, trillion-dollar legislation gets passed! Is that the "hope" and "change" he was referring to?

Remember how low Bush’s approval numbers had been in the end? How could any campaign that promised the exact opposite of the Bush years possibly lose? We were promised no more politics-as-usual under the Obama administration. We were promised a lot of wonderfully sounding stuff that was read with conviction from a teleprompter, but the bottom line is: We were lied to.
Anyone who can’t see that by now is a staunch left-leaning ideologue, or just a good old fashion moron. Either that, or you are willingly ignorant and just don’t give a crap. I’ll take the morons or the willingly ignorant any day; at least they are typically more likeable…

The president and his administration not only took Washington-politics-as-usual to horrendously new lows with the passage of ObamaCare, they scoffed at the overwhelming American disapproval of the bill, and knowing full-well what the negative political ramifications were going to be – forced it on the People anyway.

All name-calling and venting aside, I am hopeful that this will be a wake-up call for Americans. We cannot hit the snooze button anymore and hope our elected officials will do what is best for the country. We have to take our country back. We cannot sit idly by while our country is altered into a Marxist nanny-state with the federal government at the helm of virtually every aspect of our lives. Who else is going to stop the out-of-control government spending of our money (and money that doesn’t even exist yet), the growing of government bigger and bigger, and the weakening of American strength and position in the world?
They already forced themselves deep into the banking, automobile, and health care industries. They want to take over education. With the passage of Obamacare, they just helped themselves to absolute control over student loans.

They aren’t done!

They still want to give amnesty to illegal persons living in our country, completely infiltrate and destroy Wall Street, "reform" the entire banking and financial industry, and render as many citizens as possible dependant on the federal government with even more entitlements.

Unemployment benefits right now are costing us $10 billion a month. Apparently, in America one can live off of the government (working citizens tax dollars) for over two years as long as they claim they are “looking” for a job. I remember when Obama would use the $10 billion per month figure as an atrocity when making a talking point in ending the war. Well, financial accountability or responsibility under his administration is the joke of the generation. Nobody will ever refer to the Obama administration and financial responsibility together unless it is to show they are the antitheses of one another. Yet, Obama consistently makes references to how we need to be more fiscally responsible. I can’t decide if he is on drugs or just so deceived through the intoxication of his own power that he really believes the crap that comes out of his mouth.
Obama: the face of economic recklessness – the face of liberalism – the face of change for America:
Change from a strong, independent, wealthy, secure nation, to a mediocre, dependent, struggling, and second-rate nation.

This is supposed to be a government of the people by the people for the people. This means: We the people are the government.
American’s have a duty and civic responsibility to keep our government in check and bring balance back to where balance has been lost.

God may have decided America is not worth His grace and favor anymore, and truthfully, I think it is more like America decided God is not worth her time or effort anymore; however, America is still our home and we have to do the best with what we have. Americans looking for a good way to start rebuilding American strength and prosperity, preserving individual liberty and personal freedom should at the least consider the following:

One of the main reasons Americans overwhelmingly disapprove of Obamacare – an unprecedented takeover attempt of our health care industry – is because we don’t want to have to deal with an enormous D.M.V-on-steroids for our health care.
Every time I hear a liberal democrat on TV talk about Obamacare I notice at some point in the conversation an insipid comment about how the American People are just uninformed – they don’t really know what is in the bill, and thus popularity for the bill is marginal. How out-of-touch and snobbish do you have to be to actually believe that load of sanctimonious crap? In reality, Americans know EXACTLY what a federal government health care takeover entails: AND WE DON’T WANT IT! Pure and simple!

George Will explained it perfectly when responding to Robert Reich on ABC’s This Week on 3/7:
Will: You say they [insurance companies] have huge profits. As you know, confiscate all the profits of all the health insurance companies, with those profits you could finance our healthcare for 48 hours. What you do for the next 363 days I don’t know. Second, you say there’s not enough competition? Fine, let them compete in a national market across state lines.
Reich: Yes, let them compete across state lines, fine. But not a race to the bottom. Set minimum federal standards because we’ve seen over and over again that the recipients of health insurance don’t know what they are buying very often. Until there are common standards, minimal standards, then people are going to be taken. And that is what’s happened over and over again.
Will: There you have the premise of this legislation and the core of today’s liberalism: the American people are such dopes they can’t be counted upon to buy their own insurance.

And it is exactly this snobbish, aristocratic, arrogant attitude that the American people are rejecting. Liberal democrats/Obamacare supporters basically presume the reason Obamacare is so unpopular is because we are too stupid to understand why we don’t want the federal government running our health care and we are too stupid to know how to buy our own health insurance. According to these people, we are too dumb to realize that a federally ran health care industry will revitalize the industry, lower health care costs, decrease the deficit, create jobs, and all the other baseless, counterfactual, talking points they have been using since before the first time they couldn’t pass it. Insurance company-bashing has been a prevailing element for the last several weeks too, as if companies that profit from health care are fundamentally evil.
I hate to have to insult the intelligence of my vast and fine readership, but apparently I need to make a statement to clear the air concerning opposition to Obamacare.

Being anti-Obamacare does not automatically equate to being anti-health care reform. This is a boring and counterfactual claim liberal democrats love to throw around.

Of course Americans want reform, but we want REAL reform. Write a bill that will help bring down the cost of health care, insure more Americans without becoming a massive entitlement program, and establish measures for tort reform. How about writing a bill that does not have a provision for federally funded abortions, or a bill that doesn’t insure illegal aliens living in the country?
The majority of the country is quite clearly adamantly opposed to giving our entire health care system over to the federal government – roughly 16% of our entire economy. We all know the government’s track record running massive entitlement programs and bureaucracies – failure! Not only does the government fail miserably in running massive entitlement programs (social security and medicare are bankrupt) but they the programs seem to have a nasty way of gradually getting larger and larger, encompassing more and more, ultimately leaving less and less of your liberties intact.

Some analogies:
Line up 100 Brits and 100 Americans– have them smile – and YOU tell me what teeth you like better…
Find 100 terminally ill cancer patients in Canada and ask them, if they had the choice, where they would like to receive treatment …
Starting to catch my point?

Questions:
Why haven’t the democrats in Congress made any effort toward writing a bill that will actually lower health insurance premium costs instead of attempting a comprehensive health care industry takeover? Why haven’t they entertained republican ideas which introduce fair market principles to the health care industry by opening cross state competition? Fundamental economic principles teach us competition drives costs down, while at the same time, delivers increases in innovation and invention. Why doesn’t the Obama administration just admit they are trying to ram a health care industry takeover through without the consent of the People?

Answers:
Because, it is all part of the plan. Don’t get me wrong, I am not an aspiring conspiracy theorist: I am a realist; I can read the writing on the wall.
Like millions of other Americans that are worried about the current direction of the country, I can read between the lines of the Obama administration’s vision for hope and change in America. The vision is an America with government running virtually every aspect of our lives – an America with a limited private sector, diminished strength in the world, and entitlement programs encompassing everything from what car you drive to where you go to school to how you get your health care. Sure it sounds great to say Americans are entitled to these things, but at what cost?

Furthermore, since when do Americans have to be dependant on the federal government for a living? Here is the rock-solid truth: the government does not create anything in and of itself – the private sector does. Although I personally wouldn’t dream of attempting entrepreneurialism under the current economic conditions and political climate, entrepreneurs and free market principles are the creators of jobs and wealth. Government jobs, programs, and entitlements use tax dollars. It is a transfer of money – basically a wash (actually in America’s case a deficit). The bottom line is, government does not, nor has it ever created wealth, nor can it truly stimulate the economy. What the government SHOULD do to stimulate the economy is get out of it, and bring the out-of-control spending to a screeching halt! Loosen up on corporations and small business, and yes, give them tax breaks and incentives to grow, and for the love of God and all that was once great about American Exceptionalism – stop trying to take over the entire health care industry!.
Unfortunately, these are concepts that many Americans do not fully grasp, and as a byproduct of our ignorance and apathy, government has been able to grow to a size and scope that it was never supposed to reach.

Obamacare lies debunked:
We debunked the lie they attempted to force feed us about the alleged “40-some million people” in the United States that do not have health insurance. Just do some research on this – the actual number of uninsured, legal citizens, who actually want health insurance but cannot afford it is less than 6% of this fabricated 40-plus million lie.
We debunked the lie of “no federally funded abortions.” The language in the bill clearly states otherwise. In pure black and white on page 2071, lines 10-18 of H.R. 3590, look it up for yourself if you dont believe me.

We debunked the lie “if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor”. Under Obamacare, your doctor may not even be practicing anymore.

We debunked the lie of “80% of Americans like their doctor, not their insurance”. No – 80% of Americans with health insurance like their health insurance. Of course we like our doctors. If we don’t, guess what, we find a new one: Something that we will not be able to do under Obamacare.

Plea to any legislators on the fence about Obamacare:
Although the American people are against a government takeover of our health care system, (just look at any major accredited pole available) we are not against true health care reform. We only ask that you do what is right and good for the country and stop the government’s attempt to take the health care industry over.
The opposition to this bill -- the majority of the American people, are not stupid. We do not oppose this government takeover attempt because we don’t know what it entails; we are against it because we know EXACTLY what it entails. You were elected to listen to your bosses, the American people whom you represent in Washington. If you decide to ignore what we want, we will take appropriate action to ensure you never represent us in a legislative or political capacity again!

The intention of this letter is NOT to focus judgment on the sins of Tiger Woods, or any other celebrity for that matter. I want to pose a question:

Since when does Tiger Woods, or any sports figure or celebrity owe you and I an apology?

Sure, adultery is wrong, and should always be labeled wrong in society – always has. However, when did society decide that celebrities need to publically punctuate apologies for their uncouth behavior? I don’t feel I am owed an apology. I didn’t all-of-a-sudden start having crappy days ever since the last chapter of Tiger-infidelity came out. I certainly don’t think my 83 year old Grandpa is losing sleep over it. I don’t think Tiger directly wronged the guy down the street who just bagged my groceries; yet I guess according to the Lame stream media, I could be wrong. That guy down at the grocer could be so hurt, so offended, so utterly heart broken and miserable over what Tiger did that he desperately needs an apology.
Ya… Ya, right.

Actually, I do not so much believe that society demands apologies from celebrities as the Lame stream media does.
In my opinion, I see the root of the issue being how the media treats us – how it tells us what to believe. It forces a deception in our faces and in our living rooms that whatever they flash across the screen is what you and I need to be concerning ourselves with. In reality, I believe Americans are (or should be) more concerned with the rock-solid concepts of life such as faith, family, home, kids, and career, rather than the sand of celebrity drama and who happens to be going into “sex-addiction rehab” this week.

I don’t give a crap about Tiger Woods apologizing to us. Furthermore, and I know some will disagree with me here, I feel true role models are parents. Parents and teachers to a lesser degree, but definitely parents. Of course Tiger is a household name and should not have been living his life like an out of control frat boy, but who are we to pass judgment! Moreover, it is the parents at home who should be teaching the kids that his behavior was wrong. I also want to point out how the media usually viciously condemns the individual rather than the behavior. We are all sinners. None of us are perfect and therefore none of us have room to cast stones at anyone; however, the Lame stream media has honed its stone-throwing practices to a virtual art form. If you are not a staunch democrat or publically liberal and you so much as breath in the wrong direction, they will pounce on you like a frenzied cat, eviscerating every ounce of character you thought you had. Contrastingly, if you are a democrat or flaming liberal – then your crude behavior is generally promptly forgiven, and in many cases praised. Hell, sometimes you are even exalted as one of Americas finest. Just look at David Letterman and Bill Clinton – both men adulterers with women half their age – both men forgiven by the media and looked up to. Hey, but it’s ok, they're liberal democrats – hip, smart and funny! Role models for youth!

Pure unbridled hypocrisy at its finest! **finger in mouth gesture followed by puking sounds…***
Just another mind-numbing example of the double standard, two faced, hypocrisy that is perpetually flowing from the left.
Anyway, Tiger, God will forgive you, just repent and seek Him. The media however will not, so I am sorry you had to pointlessly apologize to millions of people whom you did absolutely nothing to.

Mother Nature and Environmentalist Global Warming Alarmists Don't See Eye to Eye

NASA scientists have determined that the earthquake in Chile on Feb. 27th has likely shifted the earth’s axis by three inches. This is in comparison to the same model they used to determine the Sumatra earthquake of 2004 shifted the earth’s axis by two and three quarters inches.
My only question:
How long before this is blamed on Bush? Seriously! I predict there will be some totally deranged, liberal, whack-jobs out there that will make murmurings about how in some crazy, sick, twisted way, Bush was behind this sinister plot to shift the earths axis with a series of extremely destructive earthquakes in an effort to debunk the man made climate change alarmists forever.

Because, you know, if we cannot control Mother Nature (as Obama just said this week in response to the Chile quake), objectively speaking, any man made counter action to man made global warming is a total sham anyway – right? Realistically speaking – I am not even trying to be sarcastic here.
We can't control Mother Nature – the President of the United States just said it – so why the hell are they claiming that climate change/global warming is induced by human beings, more specifically, American human beings with our large SUV’s, wasteful lifestyles, fat butts, and addiction to oil. By the way, the oil thing is foreign oil because the same nut-jobs that chastise our use of oil scream and carry on about how we can’t use our own domestic oil due to their claim that (insert whiny, nasally, snotty voice here) – “it’s too destructive for the environment.” But importing it from outside the U.S. at the cost of American jobs and billions of our dollars is apparently just fine.

Let’s follow this rabbit down the hole further…
If we cant control Mother Nature, why are they claiming that we can reverse this man made global warming/climate change disaster by legislating how we live our lives, drive our cars, eat our food, light our homes, flush our toilets, etc, etc, etc.

I just want to see if I have this right…
According to the environmentalist crazies and global warming alarmists, human beings are responsible for climate change and/or global warming. However, Obama just said that we cannot control Mother Nature, (one of the most logical things he has said since he was inaugurated as President).
The very rational and common sense sentiment that claims human beings cannot control nature is in direct conflict with the preposterous notion that we are to blame for climate change. But wait! The very same wackos that claim we are responsible for changing the earth’s climate also claim we can redirect nature from this fabricated path of destruction we have beset it upon – thus the attempts to control nearly every aspect of our lives in the name of an environmental crisis.

What a load of dung! Not only is it a load of dung, it has been roundly scientifically debunked, and I would be happy to write an entire article dedicated to how the “evidence” for man made global warming has been utterly debunked by science, and furthermore how these nut-jobs who project their “findings” on to the public have done so fraudulently on more than one occasion. Global warming, specifically man made global warming, is nothing more than liberal-code for "tax and control". Because that is all they attempt to do while standing on their shaky at best soap box of the global warming fraud. Actually, now that I think about it, I do need to dedicate a whole article to showing the evidence that debunks this environmental alarmism crap...

Mother Nature just dealt a painful slap to the face of man made global warming or climate change with the recent Chile quake. She is saying, “See, I do whatever I want, whenever I want, and if the climate changes or the earth’s axis moves because of what I do – so be it!”

Like I said, these environmentalist zealots are going to be the same nutters that will blame Bush for these catastrophic earthquakes, and you know what the scary thing is? They will truly believe themselves…

"Dont Tread on Me", an American Motto

Enough with the old (and wimpy) saying: As American as apple pie. A more accurate and bold saying should be: As American as a rattlesnake on a flag sporting the motto “Don’t Tread on Me!” As a Marine, I take a special interest in the historical Gadsden flag because its roots can be traced back to the first Marine companies established in the fall of 1775.

For starters, apple pie is found throughout many parts of the world – the rattlesnake, or more accurately, the American Timber Rattlesnake -- only found in one part of the world: America! Although Old Glory evokes a medley of patriotic emotions from most Americans, the message of The Stars and Stripes is interpreted much differently by some inside America and abroad. The message conveyed by the Gadsden flag however, is unmistakable!

The Gadsden flag -- yellow banner, centered rattlesnake in striking pose traditionally with 13 rattles, with the foreboding statement “Don’t Tread on Me” is older than the Republic itself. This symbol of the American fighting spirit was proudly carried before The Sons of Liberty long before The Declaration of Independence was even composed. Before the Federalist Essays were published, and The Constitution ratified, this flag, and variations of it, served as a prominent emblem of freedom and independence throughout America’s revolutionary beginning and founding. This statement of bold independence and defiance of tyranny resonates throughout our young nation’s history as a reminder to those that that would oppose the most basic American value: Liberty! And the Reminder? Don’t mess with my Liberties – Don’t Tread on Me!

The flag carried by the Culpeper Minute Men of Culpeper County Virginia during the Revolution helped to immortalize Patrick Henry’s famous words by putting “Liberty or Death” above “Don’t Tread on Me.”

Some history:

By the fall of 1775 the Continental Army was desperately short on ammo and arms. They had been fighting courageously against a vastly superior force – organized British infantry – since June, but by October, they were weakening and in great need of resupply. Fortunately, the rebels received some decisive intelligence; the British had dispatched two cargo ships bound for America loaded with gunpowder and arms for the British occupying forces. The rebels knew they needed the ammo and arms more than the British – so they decided on the most pragmatic and American solution: seize the ships!
With that crucial decision, the Continental Navy, comprised of four ships was founded along with five companies of Marines. The newly enlisted Marines apparently did not take their role lightly. They carried yellow colored drums depicting a rattle snake with 13 rattles, and the motto “Don’t Tread on Me”.
The four ships, the USS Alfred, Andrew Doria, Cabot, and Columbus, along with the sailors and Marines with them went on to accomplish some of the most distinguished and important triumphs of the American Revolution.

Esek Hopkins, a salty 57 year old commander with a distinguished naval service record in the French and Indian war was appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Navy by Colonel Christopher Gadsden and the Continental Congress. Hopkins’ ship was the USS Alfred – his personal standard: The Gadsden flag, presented to him by Gadsden himself.
Hopkins and Gadsden must have felt that a deadly snake coupled with the motto of “Don’t Tread on Me” would convey the proper attitude to the opposing British while instilling a stout sense of courage for the sailors and Marines sailing off to wage a war that would ultimately decide the independence or servitude of their nation.

Bipartisanship for Dummies

Centrism. Bipartisanship. What exactly do these words mean in the shadow of the Obama administration? Apparently, nothing.

Barack Obama has made reference to his administrations attempt to take over the health care system in America as a ‘centrist-plan’. If you think about this for a moment, that assessment actually makes sense once Obama’s frame of mind is put into context. Sure, it was a centrist plan -- in a liberal democrat type of way, somewhere between far-radical-wacko-left and normal-loony-left. Basically, according to the President and the liberal democrats in Congress, bipartisanship means a compromise between far left and left. This is to be expected when both houses of congress are ran by far left liberals, further punctuated by a President that thinks bipartisanship means a compromise between socialized medicine and semi-socialized medicine.

However, the American People decide what is acceptable or not, and by and large, the only party in congress actually listening to the People’s opinions regarding the Obama administrations policies is the Republican Party – that pesky Party of No. They are listening and adhering to the American People’s voice at the expense of being discredited and ostracized by the liberal democrats and the Obama administration.

One of the most frustrating things about this President and administration is their inability to demonstrate they understand that cooperation and bipartisanship are two-way streets. This is so frustrating because Obama ran a campaign on bipartisanship and bringing the parties together. What a steaming pile of crap and hypocrisy! Obama and his administration constantly barrage republicans in congress with accusations of not cooperating, when in reality, it is the liberal democrats who are not demonstrating any willingness to listen to the republican voice in Washington. Methinks, as you judge, so shall you be judged…

Case in point: the whimpering drivel given by Indiana senator Evan Bayh, democrat, as he announced he is not seeking a third term.

Here is a quote he gave in announcing his decision not to run again:
"There are some ideologues in the Senate. There are some staunch partisans. The vast majority are good, decent people who are trapped in a system that does not let that goodness and decency translate itself into legislative accomplishments."

He is exactly right! There are some extreme ideologues and partisans in the senate; however, they reside within Bayh’s own party!
The reason I confidently make this claim is I actually pay attention to things not conveyed in the Lame stream media. Every major accredited poll will show you what I am talking about – Americans do not like the policy coming from this liberally driven congress and administration. Even some of the traditionally left-leaning poles like ABC, Gallup, and Washington Post now show ever decreasing support for this administration.

Bayh says there are “decent people who are trapped in a system…” Ya, I’ll tell you what they are “trapped” in: A reality-proof cube with opaque glass walls of pure partisan policymaking. Sure, they can kind of determine what is going on outside the walls, but really, they have no clear picture, so they rely on special interest groups and their own personally driven liberal ideologies to tell them how to write policy.

I would be inclined to respect Obama a little more if he would say things like “You know, I hear what you guys are saying, and basically, I don’t like it – so either put up or shut up! I know what is best for Americans better than they do, so start toeing to the line! In the meantime I am going to hurl nasty partisan language at you and pout until Americans see it my way!”
But he doesn’t say it like it is, he makes insipid claims that the republicans are nothing more than an angry hoard of negative and non-compromising dolts – out to say nothing but “NO!” to every one of his administration’s policies. To add insult to injury, he then exalts himself by stating in his meeting with house republicans that he was “sent to Washington to do a job”, and they better start steering away from this “Party of No” stigma.

What a load of sanctimonious crap! The republicans in congress were also sent there to do a job -- the democrats in congress said “NO” to every idea and urging from the Republican Party regarding health care reform and virtually every other piece of legislation in 2009, so Mr. President, when you say you were sent to Washington to do a job, yet your congress had a record of pure party-line legislation in 2009 -- what exactly are you talking about? Especially in the light of plummeting approval numbers of you and your administrations policies! If you were sent to Washington to do a job, then do it! Stop whining, pointing fingers, blaming the Bush administration, and start working toward the bipartisanship you championed while campaigning for President.

We are not as stupid as the liberal democrats in congress and the lefty media think we are -- at least those of us who have chosen to educate ourselves. Those of us who oppose policy coming from the Obama administration are not all right-wing nut-jobs with beer stained shirts spouting bible versus and clinging to our guns. Yes, a lot of us own bibles and **gasp** read them. Many of us also own guns, and want our rights to own them to remain intact. However, we also concern ourselves with our civic duty as responsible Americans to question those in power and help to keep Big Government in check. For the record, many of us didn’t agree with every policy that came from Bush administration either.

Listen, you can’t tell the republicans to “start cooperating or else” when you are flat refusing to listen to any idea they represent – and then turn around any make holier-than-thou claims about bipartisanship being dead in Washington!
This is one of the reasons why the American People are rejecting this administration. Democrat or republican, liberal or conservative – people can’t stand hypocrisy, and our B.S. detectors are spinning off the scale. You can’t continually assault one entire party in Washington while you do nothing but disregard and reject everything they offer – it is political suicide.

My contention is that the 2010 midterm elections will prove my point entirely!

Severely Out of Touch

I’ve said it before – although I do not agree with the majority of what Obama and his administration are doing, I do not feel it is wise to just disagree with Obama on everything just for disagreement sake. I know a lot of conservative talking heads out there portray an “anti-Obama” attitude, all the time – well, much like what liberal democrats did to Bush and his administration. Because I am not an entertainer on the radio who needs good ratings, nor am I a politician who needs the approval of voters to keep my job, I feel I should primarily concern myself with the issues and not wasting too much of my energy and time on Obama-bashing.

However, when I read interviews like the one Obama just had with George Stephanopoulos (another fellow lib) on Jan. 20th I cringe, and can’t help but fire back. Throughout the interview, the President once again demonstrated how entirely out of touch he truly is in comprehending American values and what is really going on in the country. It is like he is tone-deaf – sure he can sing, but he just can’t get the notes right.

Here is what I mean:
TRANSCRIPT: George Stephanopoulos' Exclusive Interview with President Obama January 20, 2010 6:30 PM
STEPHANOPOULOS: “So you saw it coming by then?” (Referring to the election of Senator Scott Brown ( R ) Massachusetts.)
Obama: “…The same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept me into office. People are angry, and they're frustrated. Not just because of what's happened in the last year or two years, but what's happened over the last eight years…”
Whoa, whoa, back up. Let me get this straight: he just blamed Scott Brown getting elected on Bush? Unbelievable! This is about as valid as O.J. saying he isn’t an angry guy…
The voters of Massachusetts did not reject the democratic nominee because they were angry with the Bush years, they voted for Scott Brown because they are angry at YOU Mr. President! They sent a message to the current administration and to the country that they are rejecting far-left liberal policy, and would like the country to come back into balance. And God bless them for doing so!
Republicans did not vote Scott Brown into office by the way. Massachusetts is comprised of less than 25% registered republicans, so all of you republican-hating, Bush-despising liberals can’t direct your anger and frustration at the party you so love to hate.
Scott Brown and Obama might share similar circumstance regarding people voting them in because they were angry and wanted change, but to then turn around and say they voted for Scott Brown because of the last eight years is just plain bizarre. People voted for Scott Brown to basically send the message that they do not approve of a far-left liberal democrat majority in Washington with cart blanch to enact any radical legislation they want. Once again, I am utterly astounded at our Presidents inability to accept any sort of blame for anything or admit that his policies are radical and unpopular. He continually treats the opposition to his policies as what is radical -- not worthy of any real consideration.

He goes on to make a statement completely outside of the realm of reality:

Obama: “And, you know, if there's one thing that I regret this year, is that we were so busy just getting stuff done and dealing with the immediate crises that were in front of us, that I think we lost some of that sense of speaking directly to the American people about what their core values are and why we have to make sure those institutions are matching up with those values…”

What is he talking about? He got more face time with the country than Leno and Conan combined. Obama was on TV more in 2009 than any other President in history! Every time he picked his nose the media was following him like a screaming teenage fan of the latest American Idol. Every time Obama scratched his butt he threw a press conference about it.
Let me interpret what Obama really is saying here: “Unfortunately, you Americans are so stupid you don’t know what you believe in, so basically, I have to tell you what to believe in, and even though I got more face time with the public than George Clooney, you still don’t get it…”

In reality Mr. President, the American people know exactly what their core values are – it is you who does not. Nor do you share our core values, and in 2010, we will prove it!

A Real Life Scenario

I work in the financial industry – for a Credit Union actually. Working in this industry, coupled with my understanding of economics from my Business Degree, I feel I have a fairly good grasp on market mechanism movers and what stimulates the economy.

Over the last year, I witnessed first-hand how consumer confidence in the market has plummeted. People have flooded the banks with deposits – getting their money out of the market – and saving instead of spending. People are upset, and they tend to pick the path of least resistance when it comes to blame. They blame the banks, and they blame those big bad, out-to-get-you corporations. It isn’t helping anything that we have a President in office assigning blame to everybody except where blame is actually due -- to bad government policy and legislation which in reality goes back to the Clinton years.

Describing how the current economic crisis came to pass would actually take a whole separate article, which I may oblige at a later date, but for now – suffice it to say that government was actually the main culprit for the bad economy – not just the banks or corporations. Liberals incessantly cry about how horrible banks and corporations are, when in reality, banks and corporations are actually some of the best job creators, producers, creators, innovators of technology, and stimulators of our economy. Inhibiting our job creators and producers with high taxes, stifling regulations, and disincentive to excel in the market just hurts the middle and lower class – the very people the Democratic Party claim to represent.

Anyway, at work, I respond to members emails. I have to share this email and my response. This member wrote because he was upset over the fact that interest rates on deposit accounts are so low. I hope my response made him think a little…

Here is the email:
“Every month, without fail, like clockwork you drop your interest rate on my money market. This really starts to look contrived, to gradually eliminate the interest completely. I would like to see just one month when you don't automatically lower it. The bad economy only goes so far as an excuse.”

My response:

Dear Member:

Thank you for your correspondence. I apologize if you feel that it is “contrived” that the Credit Union and financial institutions have had to lower interest rates on deposit accounts over the past year. The Credit Union's interest rates on deposit accounts is still well above the national average. Our lowest rate on a Money Market account right now is .5% while the national average is .32%. Although I know low interests rates are not desirable to consumers, low interest rates on deposit accounts are a sign of low consumer confidence in the market. Until people start to increase their spending and taking money out of savings, you can expect to see interest rates at very low numbers.
Contrastingly, if you see a financial institution offering uncharacteristically high interest rates it is actually a sign that they are in desperate need of liquidity and funds. Thus, it is a signal that their financial viability and solvency is precarious. As a member of the Credit Union, you are an owner, which means we take your opinion and concerns seriously. We are in no way attempting to restrict interest rates on members just because we want to. Once consumer confidence rises and people start spending more you will see interest rates increase.
I recommend making a concerted effort to help elect legislators and politicians that actually help consumers stimulate the economy by providing incentive to spend. When legislators enact policy that increases taxes, hinders small business, and inflates government programs, consumer confidence and spending dwindle.

A Line in the Sand

The time for choosing is before us. I believe push has come to shove, and the line has been drawn. You are either on the side of American prosperity and safety or you are not. You support American prosperity and safety, or you support the current administration. There is no middle ground anymore. Maybe there never was, but the political pragmatist in me made me think that it was not possible for any one administration to be as detrimental to the country as this one.

The single most important directive the President of the United States is charged with is the protection of American Citizens. The last 12 months evidence for this administrations apathetic and destructive attitude toward national security is alarming to say the least. The Fort Hood terrorist attack not being categorized as such is not only alarming but astounding. The administrations response to the most recent terrorist attack of a Jet liner is not only astounding, but actually scary.

Many administrations have failed at various times and over various issues throughout our history. No leader or administration has ever pleased everybody regarding all issues. But no previous administration has ever accomplished so much toward the dismantling of our countries security as the Obama administration.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt, while I contest the notion that his New Deal helped America during the Great Depression; I applaud what he did with Nazi Enemy Combatants. He had them tried in a military tribunal, sentenced to death, and promptly hung! Bravo! Justice served in an expedient and memorable manner. Political leaders at the time did not bestow American citizen rights to the war criminals. They did not provide them with American attorneys advising them to cease their communication. They properly served justice upon war criminals and murderers.

First of all, what Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab did on a Detroit-bound Northwest Airliner on Christmas Day 2009 was not an “attempted terrorist attack” as the Obama administration and Lame Stream Media have claimed. There was nothing attempted about it – it happened, and Abdulmutallab succeeded. Just because nobody was killed (thank God --yes GOD --, not the murderous Allah) does not mean this attack was only an attempt. Attempted murder – yes -- attempted terrorist attack -- no. He succeeded. The system did not work, and once again under this administration, we look like incompetent, weak, lackadaisical fools.
Second, why are we giving this terrorist and attempted murderer rights afforded to American citizens? He does not deserve or qualify for such rights. He is not an American citizen. He has demonstrated that he does not heed or care about American rights. We just gave a non-citizen who attempted to bring death and destruction to other innocent people rights and benefits afforded to American citizens. Talk about aiding the enemy – not only are we helping those that seek to destroy us, we are giving them defense attorneys!
The time to wake up and act is now. I do not care about political orientation, right versus left issues, and bickering between parties. I care about the safety of our country and right versus wrong. I care about the constitution and the American voice being heard and represented by our elected officials. American citizens need to do their job and fire those in office who fail to meet the standards for which they were elected. My prediction is that 2010 will be a political year of reckoning – a purging of politicians who have abandoned their most sacred duty – to uphold the constitution and represent American citizens in a true and honorable manner.
We are tired of not being listened to. We are appalled at the radically left-of-center policy pouring out of Washington. We are astonished at the trillions of dollars being spent, wasted, and unaccounted for. We are sick of being lied to.

The country clearly wanted change, but it seems big government, big spending, and politics as usual is still the prevailing culture in Washington. We need to know our elected officials are doing everything they can to maintain our safety – not apologizing to the very nations that seek to cripple us.
For the sake of maintaining our position as a leader in the world, for the sake of future generations of Americans and for the sake of American Exceptionalism, we need to exercise our sacred right and duty to elect representatives who will ensure balance, heed the desires of the American people, and govern from the center.

In 1775 Patrick Henry was not afraid to make the bold assertion: “Give me liberty or give me death!” In 2010, we the People of The United States of America will boldly proclaim “You’re Fired!”
Our voice will be heard. Mark my words.

Authentic America

Authentic American values and beliefs have been under attack for a long time, but never before like they currently are under the new administration. People are angry – and they have reason to be. Anger comes out of a perceived injustice. The Obama administration and the sycophants in the media do not heed or value authentic American beliefs. This is a great injustice for those of us that do. It is my firm belief – and I know I am not alone in believing this– that several of America’s once strong and dependable institutions have drifted into mediocrity and even complete failure. Chiefly among these are The Press and Public Education.
Authentic American beliefs are not portrayed in the media anymore, nor conveyed to our children in public school.
One very authentic American belief is we are all accountable for our actions. One of the destructive consequences of the vile deception of political correctness is that we are all made into victims and genuine accountability is diminished to the point of non-existence. Under the erroneous guise of political correctness, blame is shifted to a disease, a gene, an addiction, an idea, an object, or any number of external forces except the individual who is in fact at fault. Political correctness is greatly aiding in the adulteration of authentic American values because under its reign we can’t come out and objectively appoint blame where blame is due for fear of offending someone or offending their heritage, religion, orientation, etc. etc.
A relevant example that illustrates my point perfectly is the recent Fort Hood massacre. Why hasn’t the Obama administration or the main-stream-media gone on record and called Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan what he truly is: A Muslim-extremist-Jihadist who perpetrated heinous murder of innocent Americans. I have seen him referred to as “the shooter”, “alleged gunman”, even an honorable American who was just misunderstood and harassed. This politically correct deception has slithered its way into our culture and created an illusion of a false sense of entitlement -- a right to not be offended. Candidly speaking, nowhere in the United States Constitution, any of its 27 amendments, the Bill of Rights, or even the Ten Commandments for that matter does is say you have a fundamental right not to be offended. Being offended is part of life. What you do with that feeling, how you act or react to it is what helps define your character. A nasty consequence of political correctness the country has to deal with is a false and sick sense of entitlement that is becoming increasingly prevalent among the populous. Suddenly we are entitled a house, a car, a college education, free health care, etc. etc. In reality, these things cost money, and must be worked for and earned. If we are in fact endowed by our Creator with the unalienable right to pursue happiness, then we should be free to do just that -- Pursue it! The authentic American belief on this issue is that we are entitled to what we work hard to earn. Never has it been an American belief that happiness is an entitlement that is just given.
Furthermore, we are only as accountable as we want to be. This concept, independently, doesn’t have anything to do with authentic American values, it is just a fact. But we live in a society that does not teach accountability in its institutions anymore. No longer are we externally held accountable for our actions. Again, I am speaking largely of the institutions of The Press and Public Education. Although personal accountability may be taught through The Church or at home, The Church is no longer considered a viable institution for growth by the State or media. The Press is quite obviously derelict in its duty to keep government in check by holding it accountable. Furthermore, discipline and accountability are by and large void in Public Education out of fear for being sued by someone who feels they have been offended.
Another Authentic American belief that is slowly but surely being eradicated by our institutions is the notion that we are endowed by a Creator with certain unalienable rights. The reason this concept is becoming extinct is because of a decline in popular media of the belief in God – a fundamental belief from our nations founding. Furthermore, if a teacher presents the notion that there is even the mere chance of intelligent design, they are ostracized, blacklisted, and very often fired. Just watch Ben Steins film Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed for relevant evidence of this.
Once God is removed from the picture, certain rights become relative. Our Constitution was based at our Founding on the notion that we are endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights. Rights like life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Representative in the Constitution and its amendments are other intangible rights that are under attack, such as, personal freedom (the first amendment), owning of personal property, and a right to safety (the second amendment).
Once it is believed there is no God, these rights become relative to how another human being perceives them.
I do not intend on using this article to primarily argue theological concepts. I just argue the following point: If you do not believe in God, how can you fundamentally believe in the sanctity of life? If the cosmos and all the amazing intricacies of life were in fact nothing more than a mere anomaly, (the chances of happening are one in over a billion, or mathematically zero by the way), then how can you view life as sacred? If you do not believe in God or a Creator, then you believe that life came out of nothing -- accidentally -- which means it holds no purpose or meaning beyond the superficial. Along with this non-authentic American belief comes the concept that the individual is their own God, accountable to nothing greater than himself.
Let me put this into perspective: With no God, there is no sanctity of life, thus the individual becomes God of himself. Right and wrong become fundamentally blurred and what were once undeniable rights become subject to human interpretation. A perfect example of how this is put into practice is the fact that some people argue it is an individual’s right to choose if a new life deserves to be born or not.
Those of us that believe in authentic America have a task ahead of us. It is the task that we have always had, and a task that should never be taken for granted. Our task is to confidently vocalize our concern, vigilantly stand up for what we believe in, and relentlessly remind our elected officials of what this country stands for. I adamantly believe that authentic American beliefs are still very much alive throughout this country and in the hearts of the majority of Americans. We do not agree with the indoctrination of our children in public school with non-authentic American values. We are tired of being mischaracterized in the media as right-wing nut jobs, redneck idiots, or angry racists who cling to our guns and religion. We are here to demand accountability and ensure the political death of those that oppose!
Those of us that adhere to the authentic American belief system need to unite and make it our mission to do everything within our power, legally, and ethically to make certain that those opposed to authentic American beliefs NEVER be elected into office again.

The Fort Hood Massacre

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims of this senseless tragedy, and may the murdered victims rest in peace. Although they met their end not on the battlefield, but on their home soil at the hands of a sick murderer, they died as heroes and shall never be forgotten.
Now I need to vent some genuine anger about how the media is already portraying this act of domestic terrorism. As if this horrifying mass murder wasn’t disturbing enough, I have to get up the next morning and read disgusting reports form the corrupt main stream media that make me want to go throw-up. They are already spinning the story in a sick way by making the mass murderer, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan out to be the real victim here. He is being portrayed as misunderstood. A devout Muslim, apparently he was against the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. He received orders for deployment in Iraq, and took issue with that; even enlisting the aid of a lawyer to fight it. So, clearly, he is the victim here right? Well, I don’t know about you, but I don’t see that there is a whole lot to misunderstand about an individual who voluntarily submits his service to the U.S. military, then decides to walk into a crowded area on base calmly shooting innocent American soldiers and proclaiming "Allahu akbar!"
Personally, being formerly in the Marines Corps, I am having a hard time comprehending how this guy was not shot dead within a few steps after he started unloading on people. I agree that in a school, a mall, a stadium; generally anywhere out in public, it seems more believable that someone may be able to get away with shooting over 40 people. Armed security is more common on a military base than uniformed police are on the civilian streets. Not to mention, if necessary, access to weapons and ammo is readily available at any armory. Anyway, what’s done is done I wont dwell on how this guy wasn’t riddled with bullets within a few moments of his murderous spree. Regardless of the outcome, he had to have thought he was going to his death. Proclaiming “Allahu akbar” indicates he thought he would die for what he was doing. Allahu Akbar is Arabic for “God is great”. Generally speaking, it is accepted among Islamic believers that proclaiming praise to Allah at the time of death is good. Maj. Hasan thought he was righteously going to his death and proclaiming praise to Allah for it.
I also want to point out that whenever something mind-numbingly horrific like this happens the Muslim community fails miserably to publically denounce this type of behavior. You want to know why? Because their fundamental belief system stems from a violent attitude toward infidels! Actually, enslavement of the infidels is preferred, but if you can’t enslave them, then killing them is acceptable. Not only is it acceptable, it is encouraged.
The traditional American value of personal responsibility is completely dead in the media. One no longer has to be accountable for their actions. Blame is shifted to a disease, a gene, an addiction, an idea, an object, or any other number of external forces except the individual who perpetrated the act. For the families of the murdered at Fort Hood I hope Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan lives. I hope he lives so that the families of the true victims can see justice served upon him.

Commander in Chief or Commander in Least?

As a Marine, Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, and Honorably Discharged Sergeant, I know a thing or two about mission accomplishment versus troop welfare. As a matter of fact, any Marine can tell you the clearly stated objective of the Marine Corps is mission accomplishment. Troop welfare comes secondary.

Commanders and military leaders learned long ago that success on any battlefront depends chiefly upon mission accomplishment. Troop welfare, while important, does not trump mission accomplishment. For the enlisted Marine on the ground, this is sometimes a hard pill to swallow. But we understand. And actually, this is one of the reasons why the Marine Corps is one of the finest and most effective fighting forces in the world.

Our current Commander in Chief (who never served in the military) has not demonstrated that he comprehends the concept of mission accomplishment before troop welfare. Disappointingly, President Obama has not demonstrated that he comprehends the concept of mission accomplishment at all. We have no clear mission in Afghanistan. We have no concise finalization strategy for Iraq. The President has yet to establish just what we are supposed to be doing in either of these theaters.

Furthermore, the President seems to be thwarting any forward momentum with regard to mission accomplishment by manifesting an attitude that troop welfare is paramount. Obama has also hastily portrayed an apologetic attitude for American strength. This destructive attitude breeds not only optimism in our enemies, but despair in those in uniform who are genuinely proud to serve the country they love.

Not only that, the President is arguing with the very commander he appointed to do what needs to be done. Consequently, Obama's indecisiveness, or "dithering" as Cheney put it, is costing American lives and wasting precious time needed to gain momentum toward mission accomplishment -- for whatever the mission may be.

For someone who neither served in the military nor had any executive leadership experience prior to the presidency, Obama has yet to do anything to assuage the collective apprehensions from those of us who feel he is too green for the job of Commander in Chief. The presidency is not the place for on-the-job training, especially in a time of war. Although Obama has probably learned a lot in his first nine months in office, he has not asserted to Americans or our enemies that the new administration has any idea how to handle a war, let alone two.

To the 30% out there who are lie-down Obama supporters no matter what, and to the sycophants in the media who exalt every aspect of his presidency, I would ask one very serious question: Why? As responsible American citizens, we are supposed to be questioning our leaders, demanding accountability, and settling for nothing less than what our Constitution was ratified for: freedom, liberty, and a limited government with checks and balances.

Hypocritically, it seems, some apply this standard only when a Republican is in office, and I fear that their lack of vigilant citizenship is just as damaging to the country as the Obama administration is proving to be. Given nine months' continually compiling evidence pointing to the administration's dangerous incompetence; its clear anti-American actions and attitudes; and the vast, almost un-countable contradictions that spew forth from Obama's own mouth, why...why do you blindly believe and support such insults to your own intelligence and patriotism?

Among other things, I would highly recommend to our rookie President that he catch up on some history. For starters, he could read up on the first term of a fellow Democrat, Lyndon B. Johnson. Johnson had great domestic aspirations with the Great Society, Medicare, and civil rights, but was hampered by a little-known nuisance at the time in Southeast Asia. Although President Kennedy initially involved the U.S. in Vietnam, it was Johnson and his advisers who ultimately bungled and exacerbated the conflict to an irrevocable boiling point. At very high cost with little gain, the Vietnam Conflict, generally speaking, serves as a warning to future generations of what can happen when politicians mismanage a war.

For cathartic reasons, I have outlined a plea that I so ardently wish for the President to fundamentally believe, hold in his heart, and take action to uphold:

The United States military is the best in the world. We have the best warriors, equipment, weapons, training, leaders, and intelligence resources. Combine that with the highest esprit de corps and morale from an all-volunteer force, and you have the finest military the world has ever known. For every person who holds contempt in his heart for America, there are a thousand others in our debt because of the security we provide, and a thousand more who would give up everything they have -- even risk death -- just to live here.

Mr. President, if you are not proud of this land, then how can you possibly believe that you are what is best for America right now? And if you want to get out of Iraq and Afghanistan, then make that your mission, and just get out! If not, then be the leader our nation needs in this desperate hour...and lead.

In the meantime, our sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, husbands, wives, brothers, and sisters lives are held in the balance while you throw parties at the White House, attend fundraisers, and refine your chip-shot. Need I even mention the time and money already wasted while you demonstrate your incompetence and display to the rest of the world how weak and indecisive America has become under your administration? Our strong military is not something to be ashamed of, not something to apologize for. American strength is something to be proud of, not embarrassed about. We are one Nation under God, not one Nation under the Opinion of a Few.

Although history has a nasty way of repeating itself, it also has a cleansing way of balancing itself out. Conservatism, common sense, traditional Christian values, and the grand old unique-to-America fighting spirit are in the midst of a great reawakening. As destructive as the Obama administration may ultimately prove to be, responsible citizens will not allow its deception to prevail. We may be giving way to one of our finest hours. Ultimately, it will be our children and grandchildren who will either reap the benefits of our fight or drown in the wake of our apathy.

I have a vision for my grandchildren. Someday, before I die, I would want them to be able to thank me and my generation for fighting back when our country needed us the most, for confronting tyranny, exposing and debunking the deception of Socialism, standing up for our constitutional rights, and proudly proclaiming, "Don't Tread on Me!"

Think We Are Free? Think Again.

I generally try to find the time to read Americanthinker.com daily. An article on 10/22 by Jan LaRue titled: Obama Manipulates Media to Expel Fox brings home a very good example of just how much Obama lies. The more and more I see contradicting statements surface from Obama the more I can’t help but think, one: He actually has no clue of the things he has said in the past, or two: He is too arrogant to give a crap. I tend to agree with the later more. Obama is the ultimate example of someone who tirelessly speaks in the moment; which, in and of itself is not necessarily a bad thing for a public figure. However, Obama speaks as if whatever he has to say, about every issue, at whatever point in time he says it is pure Gold. Glaring contradictions that surface later be damned! A whole book can be devoted to his contradictions, and actually, my prediction is we will see the first one in print by next year if this administration hasn’t started book burning by then…
In her article Jan points out the following:
In honor of World Press Day, Obama said the following on May 1st of this year:
“Today, I lend my voice of support and admiration to all those brave men and women of the press who labor to expose truth and enhance accountability around the world. In so doing, I recall the words of Thomas Jefferson: "The basis of our governments being the opinion of the people, the very first object should be to keep that right; and were it left to me to decide whether we should have a government without newspapers or newspapers without a government, I should not hesitate a moment to prefer the latter."

I guess all that lip service about “support and admiration” for members of the press who “expose truth and enhance accountability” was only meant for the networks that trip over themselves just to kneel before him and kiss his hand. Obama and his administration have made it clear that they do not revere Fox News as a genuine member of “the press”. I’m not trying to raise any panic alarms here, but seriously: WAKE THE HELL UP PEOPLE! They are not even trying to hide it. We are clearly experiencing an indictment on the United States Constitution and our First Amendment Rights stemming from the highest branch in government. I’m not stupid; I get the whole Party-Line political song and dance that dictates you try to belittle and discredit those that oppose you. But Fox news is merely doing its job. The Press is supposed to ask the hard questions, point out the hypocrisies, and take Big Government to task on issues where it seems to overstep its boundaries. Apparently, if you question anything coming from this administration, you are ostracized, scoffed at, and declared unfit to be listened to. America: We are being lulled to sleep by a President, White House, and corrupt-main-stream media that wants us to get in line or shut up, and when enough of us wake up and try to shake the yolk of tyranny off, we are going to wonder where our Liberty went.
Once again, I direct your attention to the glaring and unmistakable hypocrisy and double-standard stench reeking from the Left. If Dub-yuh had his administration declare war on CBS, or NBC, or any other of those liberal-rag networks that constantly barraged him with disdain, what do you think the out-come would be? They would crucify him! His head would be on a platter before all to see, and I wouldn’t be surprised to hear talk of impeachment.

If this isn’t eerie insight as to where the country is headed, I don’t know what is. A police officer at a peaceful, non-violent Town Hall Meeting protest is attempting to force a protestor to remove his sign. I don’t know if there are any city ordenences prohibiting this behavior; however, it appears this cop just didn’t like the protestors sign. So, peaceful, non-violent protest is conditional to party line allegiance now? Is an American citizen only allowed to protest as long as it does not question or confront Obama, or his current administration? The larger concept here is that this administration is polarizing people like never before, but it seems any opposition is being ostracized and diminished by the blind supporters. You should be outraged, and if your not, you are just another sheep being led to the slaughter. BLIND!.

Copenhagen: The Ego Has Landed

I have to say it: I chuckled fairly hardily at the onset of the 2016 Olympics going to Rio de Janeiro. Chicago didn’t even make it past the first round. In fact, Chicago received so few votes we can even say that Obama’s presents before Olympic committee members wasn’t necessary at all. Poor Obama, I hope they didn’t hurt his widdle feewings…The International Olympic Committee basically was like: “Oh, ya, and Obama, don’t let the door hit you on the way out big guy! And take Oprah with you, we don’t like the way she is constantly eyeing the snack bar…”
A certain word just keeps popping up in my head: KARMA. Our wonderful, all knowing, all saving, all promising, Supreme Leader has done nothing but trash America in front all the nations of the world since he took office. In a hasty and ill prepared act, the White House packed up and flew down to Copenhagen to lobby for the Olympic Games to be held in Chicago. Really? Obama doesn’t even fundamentally believe in American strength or authentic American values. He believes that we are a problem in the world.
So let me get this right, once again, my brain is having difficulty processing the hypocrisy and B.S. flowing from this administration. Obama parades around the world at various summit meetings and UN conferences, apologizes for America, yucks it up with tyrannical dictators, gives the finger to our allies in the middle east, goes on and on about how detrimental for the environment we are and how evil our capitalist economy is, etc, etc. But wait, wait, wait! Put the breaks on! America is good enough to be the international stage for the 2016 Olympics? In Barry’s home town of Chicago no less! Need I even go into detail about how blatantly contradictory this is? This whole situation reeks of political pacification and quid pro quo. Corrupt Chicago-style politics and community organizers (ACORN anybody?) did their damndest to help Obama get elected, now its time for him to pay back on the favor.
Let’s put this situation into perspective for a moment because the corrupt, Lame Stream Media fails miserably in objectively delivering the truth. There is a very real war going on that we are supposed to be attempting to win in Afghanistan, yet Obama has talked to the commander on the ground once in over two months. 263,000 more jobs were lost in September, unemployment is at 9.8% -- highest since 1983, yet Biden and the Obama administration in all their economic genius have been claiming victory over the recession. Iran is testing long-range missiles and apparently has nuke capability, and the crazy dictator nut-job Mahmoud Ahmadinejad even said that Obama’s speech at the UN vindicated his stance toward Israel.
Although all you out there still suffering from Bush Derangement Syndrome (including Obama apparently) do nothing but blame Bush for all of the nations foreign and domestic troubles, that insipid crap just isn’t going to work anymore. This whole Olympic issue is about priorities. We have a president that is clearly obsessed with two things: Himself, and how he is portrayed in the media. I remember during the campaign one of the most frustrating things about Obama was how he would refer to EVERY issue as his “number one issue”, or “one of my TOP priorities”. It seemed after listening to his debates that the man had two dozen “number one priorities”. Well, I wish we had a president that had some pro-American priorities. I wish we had a president that wasn’t completely consumed with HIS image and celebrity status. Did he really think he could just sweep through Copenhagen with Michelle and Oprah while his country was in crisis, float a few fluffy lines about hope and change, and they would welcome him with open arms? That they would cater to his every move like the brainwashed media back home? The international community has seen how Americas own president doesn’t even like America that much and yet has a very odd, unrealistic view that he will be the mechanism of change by “talking” people into liking us.

Cash For Clunkers From Suckers

Last month Americans For Tax Reform released a break-down of the recent Car Allowance Rebate Program, or “Cash for Clunkers”. Although their release on September 8th didn’t quite have all the math correct, the report still shows that if you are floating in a fantasy world that says: "more government and more government spending is the solution to all our problems", you need to wake up one of these days and comprehend that government does not create anything in and of itself. Government just spends your money, and when it needs more, government raises your taxes and damages the economy by devaluing our dollar by injecting more into the stream by printing more.
I know how people use numbers to further their ideological cause. People do it all the time. Politicians especially love to use numbers to help bring the illusion of validity to their causes. You have to be very careful taking for face value any numbers that are just dropped in front of you. Any Statistician will tell you numbers never lie; it is just how they are presented that can be deceitful. This is not deceitful. This is as straight forward as it gets.

Here is the correct breakdown of how the Government just blew three billion ($3,000,000,000) of our tax dollars to save about $717 million:

The average mileage a persons puts on their vehicle per year is 12,000 miles. The average “clunker” trade was for a vehicle that got 16mpg to a vehicle that got 25mpg. (Actually it was more like 15.8 to 24.9, but we will round to keep this nice and fifth-grade-like)
• Driving a 16mpg vehicle uses 750 gallons of gas per year (12,000/16 = 750)
• Driving a 25mpg vehicle consumes 480 gallons of gas per year (12,000/25 = 480)
• This equals an average of 270 less gallons consumed per year for each person. (750 – 480 = 270)
• 690,114 vehicles were used for this program equaling a total savings of 186,330,780 million gallons of gas per year. (690,114 x 270)
So far so good, right?

Here is the second part:
1 barrel of oil is $75 (right now anyway) and contains 42 gallons of crude oil.
1 barrel of oil will produce an average of 19.5 gallons of motor gasoline.
• 186,330,780 gallons saved divided by 19.5 gallons of gas from 1 barrel of oil, equals about 9.56 million barrels of oil.
• 9.56 million barrels at $75/barrel is about $717 million.
So, the government did in fact spend three billion ($3,000,000,000) of our tax dollars to maybe save about 717 million. This is no joke. There really are people out there that put their faith and trust in the government to do what is right with our money without ever thinking twice or questioning them. Sheep to the slaughter I say! And you want to give them Health Care, 17% of our entire economy?

Decide for yourself. Was this a fiscally sound program aimed at stimulating the economy? Or was this just another stunt by a far left administration with no sense of fiscal responsibility to force the country into aligning itself with a political or ideological notion? Let me ask you: Where do you think the $3500 or $4500 was going to come from if you qualified for this program? Money trees on Capitol Hill? Well, practically! We are the money trees! Every time (all 690+ thousand times) the government said “You want a new car? Here’s a bag of money!” they dug into our pockets. We are the suckers...

The White House of Cards

I was thinking about a good title for a book I want to write about the current phenomenon in the White House. I settled on “The Un-presidential President”. Then I came across an article by Richard Cohen in the Washington Post dated 09/29/2009: "Time to Act Like the President" that hits this nail on the head. http://www.washingtonpost.com/
Sums up a lot of what needs to get through to most folks since the Lame Stream Media won’t ask hard questions and does nothing but message our Presidents ego with praise, admiration, and puff pieces for his every move.
Let me ask you this: Given all that is going on right now, not only domestically but on the global scene, what do you think the media would be saying about Bush if he went to Copenhagen to lobby for the 2016 Olympics to be in Chicago? They would be blasting him for being completely ignorant, incompetent, and derelict in his duty as President, wasting taxpayer dollars on something so frivolous, and giving in to political pressure from his cronies. Am I right, or am I right?
I have said it from the start. Obama couldn’t have a weaker resume for the job of Commander in Chief; and 9 months in, he has done nothing to assuage the apprehensions many have about how green he really is – how dangerous he really is for the country on several different levels. You can’t run a country on “Hope and Change”. One needs reality and fact, coupled with experience and judgment. The last person on the planet who should have a “Yes We Can”, appeasement-type-attitude on foreign policy is the President of the United States. You cant associate yourself with known domestic terrorists, racists, and FAR left radicals, achieve the highest elected position in the world, and have the audacity (to use his own word) to feed the American People a bunch of BS about bi-partisanship, calculated judgment and transparency. Those of us “clinging to our guns and religion” aren’t as stupid as you think we are. And our enemies (and allies for that matter) are currently laughing at us.

If the job requirements for President of the United States went something like this:
• Experience reading well from a teleprompter.
• Can perpetually campaign for the position of President, even LONG after position is granted.
• Will unfailingly blame and bring discredit upon the previous administration.
• Get involved from a national platform on domestic issues completely irrelevant to the Presidency, but from a global platform chastise and apologize for your own country.
• Has the ability to keenly dodge every controversial issue with such grace as “I didn’t know” or, “it wasn’t me”, or “I didn’t call for that…”.

Well, then I’d say we have the right guy for the job.

You like movies? I do too. Here is an assessment we can all relate to:
Obama is like a child that wanders into the middle of a movie, has no idea what is going on but insists on telling you what the movie is, how it ends, and proceeds to go over plot points with critics. Furthermore, to add insult to injury, instead of actually sitting down, listening, or asking what is happening to better understand the substance of the movie, he starts getting as much face time with the critics as possible to talk about a movie he knows nothing about.
Although the 2008 election didn’t really have ANY candidates to choose from with wowing credentials, I, like many others, didn’t so much vote “yes” for McCain as I voted an “absolutely not!” for Obama.

Kanye West, the self proclaimed “voice of our generation” jumped onstage at the MTV Music Video Awards, took the mic from Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech for Best Female Video and started blathering about how Beyonce deserved the award because her video is one of the best of all time.
Thank you, Kanye -- voice of my generation -- for showing such grace, poise and acumen during the MTV Video Awards Show. Your awesome display of sound judgment will go down in history as a shining example for all to come of how to conduct yourself during someone else’s moment of glory. We are utterly bedazzled by your immense wisdom and sense of prudence.

Hero of the Week: Congressman Joe Wilson

Congressman Joe Wilson did something truly amazing when he called out “YOU LIE!” during Obama’s Health Care speech during a joint session last Wednesday. He took the attention off of “The One” for a moment and shined an undeniable light on the TRUTH. With just two words, he got down to the brass tacks of the ISSUE at hand. He voiced in front of the President, Congress, and America what millions of Americans already know and have been trying to convey in Town Hall meetings of late. Thank you Congressman Wilson for publically bringing attention to the fact that this giant, sugar-coated, silver-plated health care reform bill is nothing more that a destructive mass of political manure. The only thing Congressman Wilson should apologize for is a breach in House decorum; period. Oh, wait a minute; he did just that! Right after the speech no less! He knows you can’t just shout stuff out in the House Chambers during a joint session with the President. He also apologized to the President at the White House and guess what, the President and Vice President accepted the apology. So why can’t the media and House Democrats drop the issue already? Hypocrisy! Plain and simple.

Here’s the real kicker that the media is trying to side step with its belittlement of Wilson: He was right! He spoke the truth, albeit in an inappropriate manner, but he was proven to be right. The White House came out with added provisions to the bill with regard to illegal aliens receiving health care coverage after Wilson’s outburst. Wilson had read the bill, served on the ways and means committee, and he couldn’t contain himself when the President misrepresented facts. It was a lot easier to shout “you lie!” than to try and blurt out: “Mr. President, you are misstating the facts!” Give me a break already… In all actuality, I find it refreshing to see that there is someone out there in Congress that is not gobbling up all the crap that Obama is force feeding us. Congressman Wilson brought the collective American disappointed voice into the House Chambers, and I don’t care if he breached protocol, he said what needed to be said. Should he ever apologize for actually saying “you lie” then it should be completely predicated on Nancy Pelosi apologizing for accusing the CIA of lying, Harry Reid, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, (the Bush-hating democrats list goes on and on) apologizing for constantly smearing Bush and claiming he lied.
The fact that House Democrats want to get all sanctimonious and authoritarian on this guy just makes me want to puke. It should make you want to puke too! I don’t even care if you are a Democrat, this double-standard, hypocritical, duplicitous B.S. that comes from the left is undeniable and nauseating to say the least. You absolutely cannot deny the hypocrisy from the Democrats no matter what your political frame of mind is. Democrats routinely besmirched, smeared, and spoke ill of Bush or the Republican Party in general. Many were condescending -- said he lied among other things -- the media and celebrities ran wild with Bush-hate, and did any of those self righteous wind-bags apologize? HELL NO! It would be unconscionable for them to apologize to somebody they despised right? In his speech, Obama called every opposer to his plan (Republicans?) basically crazy for not believing his way is the only way.

Have you seen this self-gratifying display of celebrity-pompery from Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore? It came out a while ago, and has predictably fizzled in the wake of Obama’s plummeting approval ratings.
A couple of serious points before I have some fun with this:
First and foremost, an American citizen does not pledge servitude to any one man, woman or elected official. It is actually supposed to be the other way around. The President has pledged his service to us. We already have a pledge, and as I recall, we pledge allegiance to the Flag and the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands. Barrack Obama does not, nor has he ever represented what our Republic is really supposed to be. He represents Socialism, plain and simple. To deny it is to admit you have no clue what Socialism is or what the hell is going on around you. Furthermore, Obama manifests a Totalitarianistic approach in his politics. However, Americans are supposed to question our elected officials and hold them responsible. If they over-use their power WE THE PEOPLE are supposed to be the ones challenging them. Not pledging servitude to them. Our Constitution is very clear on this point. Citizens are not to be servants of the President!
The modern celebrities’ sense of self-importance is completely nauseating. And I contend that the majority of you out there – you know, the average American citizen -- agree with me.

So there is a stink starting to drift through the air that the average American can no longer deny; an aristocratic stink coming from our elected public officials. Their true colors are clearly bleeding though and the stench is wafting through the air. Enough to the point where the average (or lowly in their view) American who hasnt paid much attention to politics before cant help but notice the elitism and arrogance permeating from our elected public officials. That’s right: ELECTED PUBLIC OFFICIALS. I will continue to refer to them as what they are. I think they have forgotten that they work for us. They do not rule over us. We are not their subjects. This is a point made very clear in the Constitution, and a very important ingredient that has helped to make this country so great for so long. But our countries greatness is waning. The value of our currency – the once “Almighty Dollar”— is failing. And politicians are seemingly doing whatever they want instead the will of the people.
Just look at the arrogant, elitism coming from members of Congress in the Town Hall Meetings. Sheer aristocratic patronization of the very people they are supposed to be serving. For a shining example look to Congressman Barney Frank of MA: A woman called out Barney Frank for supporting Nazi policy at Franks meeting in Dartmouth MA and he just dismissed her as a right-wing nut job asking her “…on which planet do spend most of your time?” He went on to say, "Trying to have a conversation with you would be like arguing with a dining room table." Ya. Real classy Frank. Oh, and by the way, when that woman asked why you are supporting policy that the Nazis had she was being genuine and actually deserved an objective answer instead of the juvenile dismissal you gave her. The National Socialist Party of Hitler (the Nazis) took over the banks, auto industry, and health care. Much like what we are witnessing from our current administration. So really, Congressman Frank, I pose the question to you sir: On what planet do YOU think you are spending most of your time? Because on this planet Nazi policy and fascism was a very real manifestation of “change” that brought forth mass destruction for millions of people. Over 600 thousand of our own troops died to eradicate its oppression. But I guess to you talking about that is about as useless as talking to a dining room table, right?

If you have been apathetic about the current administrations destructive behavior thus far you might want to open your eyes sometime soon. Obama has appointed over 30 people to fabricated, made-up positions of executive authority. WAKE UP AMERICA! This pompous, power-hungry President has bestowed executive clout to over 30 people. They answer to NO ONE but the President. They are non-elected officials with total impunity from congress. Most of their positions are already covered by Cabinet Secretaries, not to mention parallel positions in the States so they create a lot of overlap and waste. They do not undergo Senate Confirmation Hearings, they are purely appointed by Obama. They have total executive backing, support, and reign for the positions which they hold, yet, we the people – the American voters, have absolutely no say in the matter. Furthermore, we have no idea who these people actually are or how their credentials make them qualified for a presidential appointment to an executive position with zero accountability. We can already logically deduce what kind of ideological frame of mind these people hail from politically. They were hand picked by the most left leaning President in history. This country is in desperate need of some checks and balances.
I really don’t think this would be worth writing about if it were not for the sheer number of these appointees. That, and how anonymous and seemingly unaccountable they get to be. I know those of you Statists reading this are already teeming with some liberal-drivel counter points. Hold on, don’t get your pinko-panties in a bunch just yet, I’m not through developing my case. Besides, you guys will run to Obama’s defense EVERY TIME regardless of the issue simply because your own pride or ignorance won’t allow you to admit you helped vote in this current mistake.
Look at the incredibly high number of Czars Obama has appointed and the speed at which he is turning them out. It’s more bureaucracy, which means more over-paid, marginally qualified, government do-nothings, who speak in lofty politically correct fluff, accomplish little, and cost you and I big bucks. Now I know the whole ‘Czar’ thing is nothing new in Washington. You lefties who will defend Obama to your very death are saying “He’s the President, big deal, he gets to pick who works with him, every President does.” I’m not so easily duped. This is a sly way to govern without being held accountable to congress. And it’s not like he has only appointed a few. At this rate we will have over three dozen of these guys by the end of the year. Intelligence and logic dictate that one needs to be asking the question “Why?” Why do we need to be giving control of so much to so many of these people we know nothing about? Liberal-drivel counter point: “I don’t see you complaining about Bush’s Czars!” Response: Ya. He only had four! FOUR! Do some research, Regan appointed one. Bush 41 only had one. Even Clinton only had three. Come on! I’m no super genius, but I am smart enough to notice that we are on a run-away ship with an out of control government at the helm. And you better get your concerns voiced now. At this rate, we are going to have an “Objection Pacification Czar” by this time next year. I am not joking.

Sara Palin. Get Used to the Name...

The mainstream-sycophantic-to-Obama-liberal media is scared to death of Sara Palin. Why else do they attempt to destroy her? They can’t attack her politics. She has at least an 80% approval rating as Governor of Alaska. In early 2007 it was 92%. She is way more popular among women voters than Hillary Clinton ever was. Once they found out she had double the experience in Government than Obama had -- she actually has executive experience, Obama has none -- they had to back off her professional record. So they try to smear her personally, only they can’t find an ounce of dirt on her, so what do they do next? Go after her family and kids. This media is so hell-bent on destroying her reputation that they are making themselves look bad in the process. They are scared of her because she is a genuine patriot that stands for truth, liberty, freedom from overpowering government, and best of all, she is not a phony. Talk about grace under pressure. I defy anybody to display the level of professionalism and poise that she has under the amount of malicious attacks that she and her family has had to endure.
I know, I know; I’ve heard all the redundant, regurgitated spew the liberals upchuck about her: She’s a gun-nut, she’s an idiot, “Joe-six-pack”, blah, blah, blah. WHAT A BUNCH OF BLATHERING PUKE! Oh, and lets not forget, she’s not afraid to claim she is the one thing the media hates and attacks the most: A Christian.
Let’s get down to the brass tacks here. If you can’t intelligently articulate to me in an objective fashion why Sara Palin is so awful, then I have no other option than to discount you as nothing more than a fabrication of the Medias propaganda. Enough said. If you want to blindly believe all the negativity the mainstream media has assaulted Governor Palin with, then you should be labeled as what you are; a sponge. Sponges don’t do their own research. Sponges don’t think for themselves. Sponges do nothing more than soak up crap. So before you go assimilating the opinion that the superficial liberal media is spoon feeding you, I ask you to stop and actually do some good old fashion thinking for a moment. Give your brain some exercise if you will.
Governor Palin isn’t quitting on Alaska, she is fighting for Alaska, and ultimately, fighting for Americans. Whoa, there’s a statement you won’t hear on CNN, or ABC, or see printed in the LA or NY Times. Honestly, the real reasons why Palin is stepping down are manifestations of how far we have drifted from what the Founders envisioned for us. Pragmatically speaking; if you aspire to make a difference in your community, help others, and desire to foster the constructs that make this country great, one avenue of approach might be politics, right? In an ideal world, yes, but conversely, Governor Palin has to actually step down from her political platform in order to be a more affective proponent against out-of-control government. In layman’s terms: She has to leave her political position in order to avoid all the B.S. that is prohibiting her from doing what she really needs to do. Did you know that these ridiculous ethics investigations and personal attacks were actually costing the Alaskan taxpayers millions of dollars? Of course you didn’t. The media doesn’t mention that. Does the media report on or even care about how difficult they were making her ability to actually do her job as Alaska’s Governor? Of course not. Well, guess what? In the real world Sara Palin does not answer to insipid nitwits like Katie Courac. She answers to the people of Alaska. She felt it was more honorable and fair to the taxpayers of Alaska that she not allow any more squandering of their tax dollars because the media has no idea when enough is enough. You want to talk about honor? Regardless of her reasons to step down her decision was way more honorable than what Obama did with his senate seat. Obama got elected to the Illinois State senate, yet effectively did nothing in the position, left to go campaign, all the while still receiving the salary associated with the job. Oh, but it’s OK; he fabricated a meaningless, hollow façade called “The Office of the President Elect”. *Rolling my eyes*… Give me an effin’ break…
Although I offer no theories as to what she will do next, I contend that from a political platform we have not heard the last from Sara Palin. I also know that notion repulses some of you. But know this: People respond to honesty -- a trait that the incumbent President cannot claim. People yearn for fiscal responsibility – a practice that the incumbent President cannot claim. And if given the chance and the right leader, people will align themselves with those that choose liberty over tyranny. The latter being what the incumbent President is moving the country toward. Uncle Sam and the Canned Sham of a Security Plan

Uncle Sam has been in the ring with terrorism for a long time now. Granted he has taken his hits; even went down for a few seconds after the hit he took in 2001. But he came back stronger in the next round. He came back swinging. Up until now he has been doing a pretty damn good job of keeping his guard up and swinging strong. Up until now he hasn’t given terrorism a chance to deal another stinging blow. Up until now he has had sound coaching from mentors that want to see him stay safe, and ultimately, win the fight. Up until now…
For the last eight years we have had our guard up against those that would seek to destroy us. For the last eight years we have been actively fighting those that want to kill us. We have been routing out, capturing, killing, or bringing to justice those that conceive plans to bring the U.S. to her knees.
For the last eight years we have benefited from an administration that manifested a genuine interest in our Nation’s security. *Wait.* I am getting ahead of myself. Allow me to interject my disclaimer for those of you who are already feeling the bile of The Bush Derangement Syndrome dying to spew out of you: I do not care about what the myopic mush brains have to say about their nit-witted Bush Conspiracy Theories, “blood for oil”, or all that other insipid, useless, over-killed-in-the-Liberal-Media garbage! Here is MY opinionated bias on that matter: Put down your bong long enough to rub the crap out of your eyes, pull your head out of your rear, and actually look at what is going on around you.

In less than 6 months, as a country, we have gone from being proactive in keeping ourselves terrorist-attack-free to completely putting our guard down and leaving ourselves open to destruction.
Here are some of the things our current administration is doing for National Security:
• Giving terrorists Miranda Rights.
• Releasing terrorists incarcerated outside of the country to inside the country.
• Informing the terrorists of exactly what our interrogation methods are.
• Eliminating what weak interrogation methods we actually had.

Giving Miranda Rights to terrorists:
Under the current administration, (who by the way are living in a total fantasy world, with happy little gnomes, rainbow water-falls, and unicorn filled gum-drop pastures) terrorists that would like nothing more than for you and your family to burn and die now have Miranda Rights. That is correct. And you know what the first Miranda Right is? A little something called “The right to remain SILENT”. Well that’s just awesome. Not only does a captured terrorist not want to divulge any plots of destruction in the first place, he is totally encouraged to keep his mouth shut by having the RIGHT to stay quiet. Oh, and by the way, Mr. I-Want-All-Americans-to-Burn-in-Hell, here is an attorney, complements of the American taxpayer! Did you know that under the Geneva Convention enemy combatants dressed in civilian clothes can be instantly executed? No reading of rights, no saying “Hey terrorist, it’s in your best interest to keep you mouth shut, oh, and if you don’t have a lawyer, we’ll get one for ya!” So, in a time of war, National Security on the line, innocent civilians and American troops dying, we are giving rights to the very people that want to destroy us. How backwards is that? But, what do you expect from an administration that axed the use of the terms "Enemy Combatant" and “Gobal War on Terror” and invented the meaningless politically correct mush of "Overseas Contingency Operation."

Releasing terrorists incarcerated outside of the country to inside the country:
I don’t know why we just don’t come out and say it:
“Give me your tired, your poor, your deranged masses of religious zealots yearning to destroy all those that breathe free air.”
Seriously! Somebody explain to me in an intelligent manner what the strategic and tactical benefits of releasing dangerous terrorists into the lower 48 States are? Hmmm, kind of stumped aren’t you. You know why? Because there aren’t any intelligent reasons! This was nothing more than a campaign promise Obama made. He didn’t actually have any kind of plan in mind; he was just saying crap to get a few votes! And now that he got elected, he has to follow through. This campaign promise wasn’t vague and elusive like “hope” and “change”. This one actually had a tangible consequence. Even if these terrorists were transferred to some maximum security penitentiary in the US, it’s still the fact that it is IN the US that is the security risk. These guys are currently incarcerated 400 miles away from the US border. How does moving them any closer, let alone in our back yard make Americans any safer?

And guess what? This is only the beginning. We have three and a half more years of this blind, pompous, naïve, nut-less administration.
In early 2002 research indicated that the terrorist attacks of September 11th 2001 took five years to plan. What do you think the Jihadists have been planning lately? What are they planning for three to four years down the road? Do you really have the confidence in our current administration to keep us safe? What kind of fuel has Obama already given them? He parades around the world apologizing for us. I for one yearn for an American President. One who has a proud heart for this land, the people, and will stand up for this country. One who is not afraid to draw a line in the sand, say “enough is enough”, and do what is right for America instead of doing what is politically correct, absorbing all the ego messaging from the pathetic sycophants in the main stream media.

A letter to the President is in order these days. Any American concerned with National Security, their future, children’s future, financial wellbeing or ability to realize the American Dream should be making a concerted effort to scrutinize what the current administration is doing, what they plan on doing, and what it means for you as an average American consumer. Mass media engines are not running on all cylinders. That is to say they only convey one side of the story. The side that is bent on a liberal, left leaning frame of mind. I wrote the succeeding letter in an effort to compile and condense an overabundance of concern for where the new administration is taking the country. Mr. President,
You campaigned on the notion that you would bring change to Washington, starting with ending partisanship and providing utter transparency and calculated judgment concerning legislation. Well, either you blatantly lied to the country or you have utterly failed in that endeavor, or both. Your Stimulus bill and deficit budget are nothing more than the largest purely partisan spending debacles in our nation’s history. You and your administration have doubled our debt and greatly aided in rendering the American dollar valueless in just the first few weeks of your Presidency. You forced this, without the bi-partisan effort you so eloquently sold voters on just months before, and without any display of transparency or calculated judgment. Aside from three republican turncoats whom you bought off, not a single republican in Washington believes your stimulus bill and monumental deficit budget is the answer for America right now.

Nobody believes that standing idly by is the answer, and both Congress and America know that time is of the essence regarding repairing our economy. But you sir have shown the country your true colors by completely disregarding the thoughts, ideas, concerns, and suggestions from everybody that is not on the far left of every issue. You and your far left puppets Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reed have done nothing to hear and combine the republican voice in Washington; the republican voice that is sent to Washington by the people to speak for the people. In essence Mr. President, you have directly given the finger to the American people whom do not believe your spending bill and deficit budget are what is best for America right now. Figuratively, you have strangled and thwarted half of the American voice in the name “Change”. Your administration has already spent and budgeted more money than the country could ever hope to collect. When you accrue a debt that you cannot possibly repay it is called bankruptcy Mr. President. It is my belief, and the belief of millions of others, that you touring around the country effectively still campaigning is just a front to distract the distractible from what you have really done. And that is: Hand us and our children a bankrupt and weaker nation. All in just the first 100 days of your presidency.
Not only have you arrogantly attempted to snuff out the voice of non-left America, you proceed to parade around the country and world like a self absorbed celebrity promoting a new movie while the media caters to your every move. America does not need another American Idol, Media Kingpin, or power-drunk egocentric celebrity Mr. President. America needs you and congress to ensure our financial future. Americans need more money in their wallets. Spending by citizens stimulates the economy. Free enterprise through the private sector, and tax cuts and incentives for businesses stimulate the economy. Printing more money, out of control government deficit spending, and “spreading the wealth around” from earners to non-earners does nothing to stimulate the economy. You and your administrations dyslectic, leftist frame of mind believe in fiscal practices that history has proven to be failures. Americans need to be able to take more money home from their paychecks. Americans need you to deliver some tangible “hope” and “winds of change” you duped half the nation with rather than the fart in the countries face you have left us with thus far. Hope: That they will be able to have faith in their elected government to do what is right for America rather than inflating programs and expenditures of what a leftist, purely partisan ideology dictates. Change: In Washington from what your leftist counterparts have referred to as “a culture of corruption.”
The TEA parties on April 15th were not just for what the media would like to label as radical right-wing nut jobs. They were for anyone concerned about our current far left administration bankrupting America. Anyone concerned about our countries future in the hands of an administration clearly bent on a far left ideological path with little to no bi-partisanship or checks and balances coupled with an obvious liberal media giving them a complete pass. If the anti American, liberal-rag media got their way they would have the majority of the nation believing that conservatives are nothing more than red neck, radical, half-wit, racists. But thank God for the TRUTH. The TRUTH is: We are concerned citizens, who love our country, have a healthy respect for what our forefathers intended for this great nation, and we vote! With our own government (Department of Homeland Security) labeling conservatives as terrorists, we can’t afford to be lackadaisical in our principles or apathetic with what your far left administration and media are inundating us with.
There is no question; the majority of main stream media has a clear and very obvious liberal frame of mind, and likewise, is in love with you and your administration, giving you the cover you need to force your far left agenda upon America as quickly as you can without being questioned.
I urge you to remember Mr. President; half of the country was not blindly deceived by you and the liberal media in your back pocket. Half of the country is not in love with you and your obvious far left of center agenda. Half of the country is disgusted with the appalling and ludicrous attempt of your administration and the liberal media to indoctrinate the country with the backwards notion that conservatism is something to be eradicated. That conservatives and people with a right leaning mind set are to be labeled as terrorists.
Mr. President, I implore you not make the ignorant and dangerous mistake that the leftist media has already made of mischaracterizing half of the nations people as right-wing, radical extremists just because they do not whole heartedly embrace your vision for the direction of the country. 233 years ago, there was an oppressed people who did not agree with their governments vision for their lives either, and indeed they were labeled rebel extremists and traitors. In a turn of extraordinary events they fought for, forged, and founded the greatest nation the world has ever known. Their spirit is not extinct. Although threatened by a malignant deception that attempts to shame the very elements that made this country great such as liberty, religious freedom, and personal responsibility, the spirit of our founding fathers still lives in the hearts of millions of Americans. That same spirit will not fade quietly into submission. That spirit is very much alive, worth fighting and standing up for, and God willing, shall not perish from this land!

Well, I decided to start studying up on Iran and its political structure. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but I see that Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei is the “Supreme Leader”. He has been in power since 1989. The Supreme Leader is generally in power until death or until overthrown. Since 1979 there have only been 2. Generally, in theory, he has the power to overrule the elected President if he feels his policies are not in accord with God.
He is ultimately responsible for getting Mahmoud Ahmadinejad elected; or at least skewing the election to make it appear that he was elected. The people are outraged because their political system is so incredibly corrupt. Just like every other oppressed people in the history of society they want freedom and liberty, and they are revolting against the oppression.
Ahmadinejad is a nut job who has sworn the annihilation of Israel and doesn’t like or fear the US, but honestly, this is not the most alarming thing to me. The fact the Obama has done nothing to publically show he is an advocate for the freedom of the Iranian people, denounce the radical Islamic oppression manifested by its regime leaders, or stand up for Israel in the midst of extremist threats is alarming to say the least. We are supposed to be the last bastion of personal and religious freedom in the world. The architects of true liberty. The curators of human rights. Wouldn’t you think that the President of the United States would at the very least publically voice Americas support for the freedom of the Iranian people? I’m not asking for support through the use of troops, bombs, or even financial aid; just a public display of support for freedom. Or how about showing a little support for our ONLY ally in the Middle East? Our Socialist President can’t even do that. Allow me to take a wild stab at the reason why: Because he is fundamentally not a genuine advocate for freedom; plain and simple. He wants government to be in control of most if not all aspects of the peoples’ lives. Given his radically left associations and the large and unchecked strides toward Socialism his current administration has taken since he took office, I defy anyone to attempt to prove me wrong.

Obama and his radical administration have been moving at political light speed. Never stopping to weigh the long term consequences of their actions; never allowing bi-partisan debate on the issues like what was promised on the campaign trail. Not only dose this ultra liberal administration turn a deaf ear to the republican voice in Washington, they demean any dialog from the conservative side, and refer to them as the “Party of No” and so forth.
The Nancy Pelosi Debacle Syndrome is in full force. Nothing new there – she is a deceitful, dishonest, incompetent boob! Napolitano and her ilk have labeled anyone with a conservative or right leaning frame of mind as a potential threat to National Security. And Biden? That guy is so entrenched in the lie that what he has to say is intelligent and important it’s actually pitiful. Funny at times, but mostly pitiful. Ive given him the call sign, Joe “Ice” Biden. Just has a nice ring for the old gaff master.
Obama has a truly uncanny ability to completely blow my mind with how he shows his inexperience, yet demonstrates colossal arrogance. Trillions of dollars in deficit spending aside. A 700 billion dollar porkulus bill that congress can’t even account for aside. Wall street demonstrating absolutely zero confidence in the Obama administration aside. Oh, and just forget for a moment that Obama is turning his back on our oldest allies in the Middle East, Israel, and claiming to be able to have constructive dialogue with an Iranian nut job who has vowed total annihilation of the country. Forget all of that for a moment.
This man had the sheer impudent nerve to claim in his speech at the National Archives this week that the previous administrations eight years actually made this country weaker. Is this man out of his mind? Seriously, what country has Obama been living in since 2001? It’s almost as if he is so drunk with his own power and celebrity supported by a sycophantic media in the palm of his hand that he feels he can literally say ANYTHING and actually believe it is truth. His speech was saturated with broad swaths of generalized rhetoric (that’s the politically correct term for lies) aimed at the previous administration. Strategic in a way, as no specifics were given for individuals to actually rebut. So the saga continues. The lies compile and compound. Is there light at the end of the tunnel? I believe so, and I think that light, dim though it may be, is November 2010. Although the current administration has cart blanch to cram every bit of radical leftist ideology down the nation’s throat, they know it is fleeting.
I contend that if you put to a nation wide vote the following:
*10 trillion dollar debt. *A Federal Government run automobile industry. *Federal Government owned and operated health care. *Releasing fanatical terrorists imprisoned OUTSIDE of the lower 48 to INSIDE the lower 48. *Hanging our ONLY ally in the Middle East out to dry. Etc. etc. The collective American response would be a big fat “HELL NO!”
The current administration knows this and is moving at light speed to get their radical left ideology made into law before 2010. For those of you who voted in the current mistake, it’s OK to be ashamed of it or admit the decision was conceived out of emotional or subjective reasons. You can redeem yourself by using your brain next time and making a calculated, objective, rational decision instead of being duped by empty fabricated propaganda slogans like “hope” and “change”. History is at our disposal to learn from. Check it out. Everything the current administration is doing and is planning to do has been attempted before, and failed. And you wonder why the republicans in Washington are being the “party of no” right now?

Norman Thomas, six time candidate for US President for the Socialist party of America was quoted in 1948 during his last run as saying "The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day, America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."
